Abdul Kahir Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi politician. He was elected a Member of Parliament for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Sylhet-5 (Kanaighat-Zakiganj) constituency in the February 1996 Bangladeshi general election. He is currently the president of Sylhet District BNP. [1] [2] [3] He was born in Bayampur village of Kanaighat in Sylhet district of Bangladesh. [4]

Kanaighat is an upazila of Sylhet Division of Bangladesh. It is the second-largest upazila (sub-district) of Sylhet District after Gowainghat Upazila. It is named after the town of Kanaighat,which is also the only municipality in the Upazila.
Mohammad Ilias Ali was a Bangladeshi politician and member of the Jatiya Sangsad (2001–2006) representing the Sylhet-2 constituency.
