University of Ilorin (UNILORIN),is a federal government-owned public research university in Ilorin,Kwara State,Nigeria. The university's main campus sits on an expansive area of land,about 15,000 hectares in the ancient city of Ilorin;making it the largest university in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa by landmass. The university comprises 16 faculties and over 100 academic departments offering 103 programmes. It was established by a decree of the Federal Military Government of Nigeria in August,1975. The University of Ilorin has the highest enrollment of foreign students in Nigeria. The establishment aimed to implement one of the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan,which was aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education and to generate high-level manpower,which is vital for the rapidly expanding economy. Compared to other higher institutions of learning in the country,the institution has one of the largest land areas,covering approximately 15,000 hectares of land. It is reported by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) to be the most sought-after Nigerian university in 2021. And again in 2023,and also in 2024,it was announced by the JAMB Head,Professor Ishaq Oloyede to be the sought-after University,for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME),making it for the 10th consecutive year.
Kwara State University (KWASU),is a public state research university located in Malete,Kwara State,Nigeria. It is the 77th university to be registered by the NUC,and the 95th university to be recognized in Nigeria. The university has about 60 academic departments spread across 10 faculties.

Kwasu Radio is an indigenous radio station operated by the Kwara State University,Malete,in Kwara State,Nigeria. The radio station operates on the 103.9 MHz frequency. The radio station started operations on 20th of March 2019. Aside the radio station for the institution,a television station has been proposed since 2014 by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution,Professor AbdulRasheed Na'Allah.
The 2023 Kwara State gubernatorial election was held on 18 March 2023,to elect the incumbent Governor of Kwara State,concurrent with elections to the Kwara State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election —which was postponed from its original 11 March date —was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (APC) was re-elected by a 25.6% margin over PDP nominee Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi.
Jaigbade Alao whose birth name is Muhammad ÀmínùKúrángàwas a Nigerian musician from the North Central part of Nigeria. He is the progenitor of the Dadakuada genre of music,which he started in 1939 and in December 2022,he was recognised by the Kwara State Government as one of the most distinguished personalities in the state.

Aisha Sani Maikudi is a Nigerian professor of international law and the 7th vice-chancellor of the University of Abuja. She was appointed as the acting Vice Chancellor following the conclusion of Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah's tenure and assumed office on 30 June 2024. Maikudi served in this capacity until 31 December 2024,when the university's governing council officially appointed her as the substantive VC,effective 1 January 2025.
Bolanle "Bola" Olukoju is a Nigerian public relations expert,entrepreneur,community organiser,and technocrat. She currently serves as the Honourable Commissioner for Communications in Kwara State and is a member of the State Executive Council under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON). She was sworn into office on 4 September 2023.
