Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation (AHIF) was a charity foundation, based in Saudi Arabia. Jannat al-Baqīʿ is the oldest and the first Islamic cemetery of Medina in the Hejazi region of present-day Saudi Arabia. It is located to the southeast of the Prophet's Mosque, which contains the graves of some of the Islamic prophet Muhammad's family and friends. It is also known as Baqīʿ al-Gharqad.

Muslim ibn Aqil al-Hashimi was the son of Aqil ibn Abi Talib and a member of the clan of Bani Hashim, thus, he is a cousin of Hussain ibn Ali. The people of Kufa called upon Husayn to overthrow the Umayyad dynasty who was on his way to Mecca for the Hajj pilgrimage. He wanted to confirm the loyalty of the people of Kufa, so he sent his cousin and his ambassador, Muslim ibn Aqeel, a famous warrior, to Kufa to observe the situation. He sent a letter to Hussain confirming their loyalty, before knowing that the 30,000 followers that he gained would all betray him for their lives. He was executed by the newly installed governor, Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad, on the 9th of Zilhaj, 60 AH, and is buried at the back of Great Mosque of Kufa.

Ayatullah Syed Aqeel-ul-Gharavi also known as Allama Aqeel-ul-Gharavi is a leading Indian Twelver Shia scholar, philosopher, thinker, writer, poet, educationist, community activist, critic, and a mujtahid. Presently, Aqeel-ul-Gharavi is acknowledged as one of the most famous and senior scholars of Shia Islam around the world. He was the principal of Hawza-e-Ilmia Jamia-tus-Saqalain, Delhi and is the current chairman of Safinatul Hidaya Trust, India. Muhammad ibn Muslim and Ibraheem ibn Muslim were the sons of Muslim ibn Aqeel and the grandsons of Aqeel ibn Abu Talib. Muslim ibn Aqeel was the messenger of Husayn ibn Ali to the people of Kufa, while Aqeel ibn Abu Talib was the brother of Ali ibn Abu Talib and the cousin of Muhammad. These children are also included among the martyrs of the Battle of Karbala.
