Abdur Rauf Chowdhury was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician who was a member of parliament for Kushtia-2.
Chowdhury was a veteran of Bangladesh Liberation War. [1]
Chowdhury was elected to parliament from Kushtia-2 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1973. [2] [3] He was elected in 1991 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate from Kushtia-3. [4]
Chowdhury refused to participate in the February 1996 election due to no party other than the Bangladesh Nationalist Party contesting the election. [1] The nomination went to Shahidul Islam. [1]
Chowdhury died on 24 July 2014 in Dhaka. [5]
His son,barrister Raghib Rauf Chowdhury,is the office secretary of the Lawyers unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. [6]
