Abhulimen Richard Anao is a Nigerian academic and professor of accounting. He is best known for his tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), serving from February 1999 to 2004. Anao was also the founding head of the university's Department of Accounting.
Anao has had a long career in academia, particularly in the fields of accounting and finance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). [1]
Anao was a key figure at the University of Benin. He served as the Vice-Chancellor from 1999 to 2004. [2] During his time as Vice-Chancellor, the university's ranking improved, moving from 24th to 4th in the National University Commission (NUC)'s rating by the end of his tenure. He also held the position of founding head of the Department of Accounting.
In addition to his academic and administrative positions, he has been involved in other public duties, such as serving as the Returning Officer for the 2011 governorship election in Delta State. [3] He has also delivered lectures on topics such as the impact of the Fifth Industrial Revolution on business, accounting, and finance
