Abiodun Sylvester Alabi (born 31 December 1964 in Ilawe Ekiti) is a Nigerian police commissioner. [1] [2] He is the Commissioner of Police of the Lagos State Police Command, with the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police. [3] [4]

Education and Career

Alabi earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Lagos in 1986, and a master’s degree in the same discipline from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1989. [1] He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in March 1990 as a cadet officer. [5] [2]

In January 2022, Alabi replaced Hakeem Odumosu as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police. [6] He had previously served as the Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State, as well as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Central Criminal Registry, Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon, Lagos. [7] [8] He was a former Deputy Commissioner of Police in Taraba and Ekiti State, and a former Assistant Commissioner of Police of the elite Police Mobile Force. [7] In 2001, he also served with the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).

Alabi is a fellow of the Nigerian National Defence College and a member of Nigeria Institute of Management. [5] He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. [9]

Abba Alhaji Kyari was a Nigerian police officer who was a Deputy Commissioner of Police currently on suspension and relieved from all police duties pending the outcome of an internal investigation into his alleged connection with Gucci King, popular alleged fraudster Ramon Abbas "Hushpuppi". He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Usman Alkali Baba CFR, was the 21st Nigerian Inspector General of Police. He was appointed by the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari to replace Mohammed Adamu who retired from Nigeria Police Force in February 2021. The Police Council on Friday, June 4, 2021, confirmed the appointment of Alkali Usman Baba as the substantive Inspector General of Police.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tunji Disu</span> Nigerian Police Officer (born 1966)

Olatunji Disu is a Nigerian Police Officer, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the immediate past head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Police Force in Nigeria, the position previously held by Abba Kyari. He is now Principal Staff Officer to the Acting Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun. He's a graduate of English Education from Lagos State University (LASU) and a holder of two master's degrees, one in Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State, the other in Criminology, Security, and Legal Psychology from Lagos State University.

Kayode Egbetokun, is a Nigerian police officer who is the current and 22nd Inspector General of Police. He was appointed by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to replace Usman Alkali Baba.
