The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is a major political party in Bangladesh. Founded on 1 September 1978 by the late Bangladeshi president Ziaur Rahman,with a view of uniting people with a nationalist ideology,BNP later came out as one of the two most dominant parties in Bangladesh,along with its archrival Awami League. Initially being a big tent centrist party,it moved towards more right-wing politics later.

In 2003,Ali launched Bangladesh's first automation-based private satellite television station NTV. He also founded another satellite channel RTV and Bengali daily newspaper Amar Desh. He is the founding President of Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).
Khondkar Delwar Hossain was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician. He served as the secretary general of the party. He was elected five times as a Member of Parliament from constituency Manikganj-1 (Ghior-Doulatpur).
Wadud Bhuiyan is a Bangladeshi politician. Bhuiyan was elected twice as the member of the Jatiya Sangsad from Khagrachari constituency respectively in the 6th and 8th National Parliamentary Elections. In addition,he served as Chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board from 2002 to 2006. Dandy Dyeing Limited is a dyeing company owned by the family of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Khaleda Zia. The company and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia,her sons,Tarique Rahman,and Arafat Rahman,were sued by Sonali Bank on charges of defaulting on a loan. According to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the company owed 400 million BDT to state-owned Sonali Bank.
