The Academy at Central is a public high school located in High Point, North Carolina. The school has a population of approximately 136 students in 9th–12th grades. [1] The school's offerings include certification tracks in health care and information technology. The school offers certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Microsoft Certified Application Specialist and Microsoft Certified IT Professional.

The Microsoft Certified Professional or MCP Program is the certification program from Microsoft that enables IT Professionals and Developers to validate their technical expertise through rigorous, industry-proven, and industry-recognized exams. The certification exams offered cover a broad range of technologies throughout the Microsoft ecosystem of IT technologies. When an individual passes a certification exam and earns a Microsoft certification, then they are recognized as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). By passing multiple exams they have the opportunity to earn larger, more distinguished certifications; such as the MCSE and MCSD certifications.

Since 2012, The Academy at Central has exceeded expected growth on North Carolina Standardized tests, and boasts a 100% graduation rate. Beginning in 2015 [2] and again for 2016, [3] The Academy at Central has been named one of the top high schools in the country for economically disadvantaged students by Newsweek magazine.

Founded in 2006, the Academy is a Guilford County Schools Early College. Students in 11th and 12th grade take college classes at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown or High Point and earn dual high school and college credit.

Guilford County Schools is a school district in the state of North Carolina. The state's third largest district, it serves Greensboro and High Point.

Guilford Technical Community College is a public community college in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. Guilford Technical Community College also has a campus in Jamestown and High Point.

Hinsdale Central High School, or HCHS is a public four-year high school located at the corner of W. 55th St. and S. The Early College at Guilford

The Early College at Guilford (ECG) is a high school with approximately 200 students located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The school was started in 2002 as a partnership between Guilford College and Guilford County Schools as the first early college high school in North Carolina, allowing students to graduate with a high school diploma and up to two years of college credit from Guilford College.

The Union County Academy for Information Technology (UC-AIT) is a full-time four-year public high school located in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, United States, on the Union County Vocational Technical Schools Campus. The school is part of the Union County Vocational Technical Schools (UCVTS), which serves students in all of Union County. AIT focuses on education in computer science and computer engineering with an emphasis on Mathematics and Science. In 2006, 51 students were members of the school's first graduating class.
