Achnahaird Bay is an inlet of Enard Bay and is located on the Coigach peninsula, Wester Ross, Scotland. [1] It can be reached by following the road to the scattered settlement of Achiltibuie. The wide sandy beach has views of the mountains Stac Pollaidh, Canisp and Suilven. Achnahaird Bay was used as a filming location for the 2011 film The Eagle , with a horse chase scene across the beach.

There is a caravan site near the beach.[ citation needed ]

Machars

The Machars is a peninsula in the historical county of Wigtownshire in Galloway in the south-west of Scotland. Its name is derived from the Gaelic word Machair meaning low-lying or level land, known as "links" on the east coast of Scotland. Although there are no high peaks in The Machars, it is not flat and would best be described as undulating or rolling. The North Atlantic Drift or Gulf Stream creates a mild climate, and dolphins and basking sharks are frequently seen in the seas.

Shuswap Lake Marine Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, comprising 894 ha. The Park has a variety of amenities including boat launch ramps, picnic areas, and 27 campsites around the perimeter of Shuswap Lake. Enard Bay is a large remote tidal coastal embayment, located 10.5 miles northwest of Ullapool, in northwestern Ross and Cromarty, Scottish Highlands in the west coast of Scotland. The mouth of the bay is about 4.5 miles across running from the head of Rubha Mòr peninsula at Rubna Na CòiGeach point to Rubna Na Brèige to the east.
