Acta Iranica is a periodical on Iranian studies published mainly in French, English, and German.
The English translation of the French undertitle of this periodical reads: The Permanent Encyclopedia of Iranian Studies published by an International Committee of scholars of the Chair of Indo-Iranian studies at the University of Liège'. Its chief editor was Jacques Duchesne-Guillemin.
Acta Iranica is a peer-reviewed series and is published by E. J. Brill in Leiden, the Netherlands.
Its scope covers scholarly studies of topics in the art, archaeology, ancient history and linguistics of the Iranian region.
The following types of material have been solicited for Acta Iranica: Texts of papers delivered at congresses of Iranology, new articles (especially those considered too lengthy for journals), opera minora of great Iranologists, and reprinted editions of selected works on Iranology.

Balochi is a Northwestern Iranian language spoken primarily in the Balochistan region of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. In addition, he made many other significant contributions to Iranian studies.
Alireza Shapour Shahbazi was a prominent Persian archaeologist, Iranologist and a world expert on Achaemenid archaeology. Shahbazi got a BA degree in and an MA degree in East Asian archaeology from SOAS. Shahbazi had a doctorate degree in Achaemenid archaeology from University of London. Alireza Shapour Shahbazi was a lecturer in Achaemenid archaeology and Iranology at Harvard University. He was also a full professor of archaeology at Shiraz University and founded at Persepolis the Institute of Achaemenid Research in 1974. After the Islamic revolution, he moved to the US, firstly teaching at Columbia University and then later becoming a full professor of history in Eastern Oregon University.

The Ferdowsi millennial celebration was a series of celebrations and scholarly events in the year 1934 to commemorate the thousandth anniversary of Ferdowsi's birth. The Ferdowsi millennial was held at the initiative of Reza Shah Pahlavi and was announced at the beginning of the year by the government of Iran. The Millennial Congress convened for five days, from 2 to 6 October 1934, in Tehran, and more than eighty notable European and Iranian scholars attended the congress. The celebrations lasted for nearly a month.
