Ada Castells Ferrer or Ada Castells (born 28 November 1968) is a Catalan professor, writer and journalist.

Life

Castells was born in Barcelona in 1968.

Her first novel El dit de l'àngel involved her Protestant ancestors. It was published in Catalan (and Spanish) in 1998. [1]

Castells was a professor in 1999. [2] In 2004, her novel about the German painter Caspar David Friedrich, "Tota La Vida", was published. [3] In 2010 she had teaching obligations at two universities and other colleges. [2]

Her 2012 book Pura Sang (Pure Blood) was set in Minorca [4] and it won the 32nd Premi Sant Joan Unnim for Catalan literature. [5] Her 2019 novel "Mare" involves the differing memories of a woman and her daughter. [3]

He was named Minister for External and Institutional Relations, and Transparency in the Catalan Regional Government under President Carles Puigdemont on January 14, 2016 before his role was revoked by the Spanish Government on the 27th of October 2017, as part of the application of the constitution's article 155 during the Catalan Crisis. Romeva spent almost 4 years in prison from 2017 to 2021, and in 2019 was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for sedition along with other members of the Puigdemont government. He was pardoned in 2021 and freed from prison.

Marrecs de Salt is a group of castellers from Salt, Girona (Catalonia), founded in 1995. They are one of the seven active groups in the province of Girona, and since the dissolution of Castellers de l'Albera, also the oldest. Their best human tower is the 5 in 8 and their best performance was on 27 October 2013 for the performance of Sant Narcís in the city of Girona, were they completed the 4 in 8, the 2 in 8 with double base, the 3 in 8 and the pillar of 6. Their shirt is blue standing for the river Ter, which flows through both Salt and Girona, as well as other regions of the province.

Ada Ferrer-i-Carbonell is an economist and professor at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, tenured scientist at CSIC-IAE, MOVE research fellow, and a research fellow at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics. She was an associate editor of the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and currently is a member of the London School of Economics-based World Well-Being Panel. She holds two PhDs in economics, one from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the other from the Tinbergen Institute and the University of Amsterdam.
