Adam Hughes (born 14 July 1982) is an Australian footballer.

Club career

UK and Ireland

After the collapse of the National Soccer League (NSL) Hughes had a 2-year spell with English club Doncaster Rovers but never found his feet and left the club in 2006. While with Drogheda United he played and scored against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League qualifiers in 2008 .

Return to Australia

On 3 March 2009, he was signed by Adelaide United on a two-year deal. He previously played for Drogheda United, Sligo Rovers (IRE), Doncaster Rovers (ENG), Newcastle Jets, Wollongong Wolves in the Australian National Soccer League. [1]

Perth Glory

On 28 April 2011, he was signed by Perth Glory on a two-year contract. [2]

China

He moved to China, where he signed a contract with China League One club Harbin Yiteng.

The 2003–04 Perth Glory SC season was the club's eighth season since its establishment in 1996, and its final season in the National Soccer League (NSL). Perth Glory finished top of the league and were crowned champions after defeating Parramatta Power in the 2004 NSL Grand Final.

The 2000–01 Wollongong Wolves FC season was the club's 21st season since its establishment in 1980. The club participated in the National Soccer League for the 20th time. They were crowned runners-up in the premiership and the champions of the finals series. They were also champions for the first time of the Oceania Club Championship from their first attempt. For the period between 16 December 2000 and 2 March 2001 the club went on an unbeaten run of 18 competitive games. This included seven consecutive wins in the 2001 Oceania Club Championship and 11 league games.

The 2000–2001 Perth Glory SC season was the club's fifth in the Australian National Soccer League (NSL). The club finished third on the table, losing in the elimination final to the Melbourne Knights. It was the final season in charge for head coach Bernd Stange who left the club in mid-2001.
