Adi Smolar (born 25 March 1959 in Slovenj Gradec, SR Slovenia, Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian singer-songwriter and composer.
In his youth he played accordion and clarinet, while also singing in several choirs. At the age of eighteen, he decided to start playing the guitar, the instrument for which he is most known today.
He made his first appearance in 1981 with a full repertoire of his own songs. He continued to perform for eight years before releasing his first tape Naš svet se pa vrti (Our World Keeps Spinning) in 1989. He lives in Slovenj Gradec. [1]
Đorđe Balašević was a Serbian singer and songwriter, writer, poet and director. He began his career in the late 1970s as a member of the band Rani Mraz, transitioning after two albums to a solo career. He first gained mainstream prominence for writing Rani Mraz's hit "Računajte na nas", which was often described as an anthem of a generation. Noted for his vivid lyricism and poetry, Balašević was also known for weaving political commentary into his songs and live performance.

It is part of the historical Styria region, and since 2005 it has belonged to the NUTS-3 Carinthia Statistical Region. Ljuba Prenner was a Slovene lawyer and writer, active in the interwar period. Prenner was assigned female at birth, but from a young age identified as male and began to transition to a male appearance as a teenager. Prenner's family were not well-off and moved often in his childhood, before settling in Slovenj Gradec. Because of a lack of funds, Prenner often worked and had to change schools. Despite these difficulties, he graduated from high school in 1930 and immediately entered law school at the University of King Alexander I. He began publishing about this time and earned a living by tutoring other students and selling his writing. He published several short stories and novels including the first Slovenian detective story.
Franc Berneker was a 19th- and early-20th-century Slovene tomb sculptor, who had a strong impact on Slovenj Gradec gaining recognition for his work in bronze, marble and monuments. His art focus went from realism to modernism to psychology, drama and an exploration of the relationship between worked and unworked, smooth and rough. He studied with Edmund von Hellmer at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and Ivan Zajec on monuments of national heroes His art work is displayed at the Resau Art Nouveau Network.
