Aditya Tamang , also known as Aditya Golay, is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Sikkim Legislative Assembly from Soreng-Chakung in the 2019 Sikkim Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha. He is the son of Prem Singh Tamang, the 6th Chief Minister of Sikkim. [2] [1] [3] [4]

He was popularly remembered for his efforts to include the Nepali language in 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India. He also served as the president of Bharatiya Nepali Bhasha Parisangh until his death. He is popularly known as the architect of modern Sikkim.

Soreng is a town and headquarters of the Soreng district in the Indian state of Sikkim. Soreng was carved as a new district from erstwhile West Sikkim on 21 Dec 2021. Soreng is known for its production of oranges, ginger, large cardamom, vegetables and flowers. The inhabitants are mostly dependent on agriculture, horticulture and tourism for their livelihood and are mostly Sikkimese, Nepali. The majority of the community follow Hinduism and Buddhism while the rest are Christians.
