Adobe Express, formerly Adobe Spark and later Creative Cloud Express, is a content creation tool developed by Adobe. [1] [2] [3] It is a cloud-based design platform where users can create videos, PDF documents, web pages, graphics and other digital assets. It is aimed at mainstream users, not professional graphic designers. [2]

History

There were three mobile apps that were predecessors to Adobe Express: [4]

In 2016, Adobe unified these apps under the Adobe Spark brand and added a web version. [4] In 2021, the application was relaunched as Adobe Creative Cloud Express, [3] which was simplified to Adobe Express the next year. [5]

In 2023, Adobe launched Adobe Express for Enterprise, [6] and later that year, incorporated generative artificial intelligence into the product. [7]

Collaboration

In October 2022, Adobe announced a collaboration with Wix to extend Adobe Express capabilities to Wix users. [8] Adobe has also partnered with several organizations and companies, including Etsy, Meta and Mastercard. [9]

In May 2022, American singer GAYLE launched a campaign in partnership with Adobe that invites fans to use and share visual templates created with Adobe Express. [10]

In May 2023, Google collaborated with Adobe to enable Gemini users to generate images via Adobe Firefly and then modify them using Express. [11] [12] [13]

Adobe Edge is a discontinued suite of web development tools that Adobe Inc. started developing in 2011. The tools enhances the capabilities of other Adobe apps, such as Dreamweaver. The first app in the suite was the eponymous Adobe Edge, released in August 2011 as a multimedia authoring tool designed to succeed the Flash platform. In September 2012, Adobe renamed the app Edge Animate, and announced Edge Reflow, Edge Code, and Edge Inspect. Also packaged with the suite are Edge Web Fonts, the PhoneGap app, and an Adobe Typekit subscription. In October 2015, Adobe announced an end to the development of the Edge family. By the end of September 2019, all Adobe Edge products were removed from the Creative Cloud offering.

Adobe Creative Cloud is a set of applications and services from Adobe that gives subscribers access to a collection of software used for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography, along with a set of mobile applications and also some optional cloud services. In Creative Cloud, a monthly or annual subscription service is delivered over the Internet. Software from Creative Cloud is downloaded from the Internet, installed directly on a local computer and used as long as the subscription remains valid. Online updates and multiple languages are included in the CC subscription. Creative Cloud was initially hosted on Amazon Web Services, but a new agreement with Microsoft has the software, beginning with the 2017 version, hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP), offered by Google, is a suite of cloud computing services that provides a series of modular cloud services including computing, data storage, data analytics, and machine learning, alongside a set of management tools. It runs on the same infrastructure that Google uses internally for its end-user products, such as Google Search, Gmail, and Google Docs, according to Verma, et.al. The feature set of Figma focuses on user interface and user experience design, with an emphasis on real-time collaboration, utilising a variety of vector graphics editor and prototyping tools. The Figma mobile app for Android and iOS allows viewing and interacting with Figma prototypes in real-time on mobile and tablet devices.

Area 120 is Google's in-house incubator in which employees work on 20% Project product ideas. It has helped develop Gmail, AdSense, Google News, and Google Cardboard.

Bazaart is an AI-powered design platform with image and video editing capabilities for iOS, Android, MacOS, and the web.
