Keta is a coastal town in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is the capital of the Keta Municipal District.

Volta Region is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. The Guan peoples include the Lolobi, Likpe, Akpafu, Buem, and Nkonya people. This region was carved out of the Volta Region in December 2018 by the New Patriotic Party.
Kpando Municipal District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly on 10 March 1989 when it was known as Kpando District, until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 19 August 2004 to create South Dayi District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Kpando District. However on 28 June 2012, the southern part of the district was later split off to create North Dayi District on 28 June 2012; while the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on the same year to become Kpando Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of Volta Region and has Kpando as its capital town.

Denu is a small town which is the capital of Ketu South Municipal, a district on the south-eastern corner of the Volta Region of Ghana, next to Aflao the border town with Togo. The name Denu literally means by the boundary. The town is sandwiched between the sea and lagoon on its south and north respectively.

Dzodze Penyi Senior High School is located in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region, Ghana. The school was established in 1963 as a college for teacher training. The high school has 44 permanent teachers, 35 non-teaching staff, one service person and one Peace-Corps volunteer. The motto of the School is 'Stoop to Conquer.' These words were taken from a comedy titled She Stoops to Conquer, which was written by Irish author Oliver Goldsmith.
Ketu South Municipal Assembly formerly Ketu South District, is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Ketu District on 10 March 1989, which was created from the former Anlo District Council, until the northern part of the district was split off to create Ketu North District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Ketu South District. It was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 28 June 2012 to become Ketu South Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southeast corner of Volta Region, immediately adjacent to the city of Lomé in Togo to the east, and has Denu as its capital town. The Municipality is known be the largest Kente Production Hub in Ghana.
Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi is a Ghanaian politician and engineer who is chief executive of the Bui Power Authority since August 2021. A member of the New Patriotic Party, he was Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs in Ghana from 2017 to 2021 in the Akufo-Addo administration and has been Regional Minister for the Volta Region from 2005 to 2008 under the John Kufour administration.
Ablah Dzifa Gomashie is a Ghanaian female veteran actress, producer, screen scriptwriter and a politician. She was the Deputy Minister of Tourism in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during their term in office between 2013 and 2017 when John Dramani Mahama was president. She is currently the parliamentary candidate of the NDC in the Ketu South Constituency and a queen-mother in the Aflao Traditional Area.

In 25 September 2020 separatists in Western Togoland declared independence from the Republic of Ghana. Modestus Yawo Zebu Ahiable is a Ghanaian politician and a member of parliament for Ketu North of the Volta Region Of Ghana. He also served as Ghana's Ambassador to Benin from 2009 to 2013. He served as Volta Regional Minister from 1993 to 1997 during the Jerry Rawlings government.
The Western Togoland Rebellion is an ongoing separatist revolt led by the Ewe nationalist organization Western Togoland Restoration Front against the government of Ghana. The group seeks the independence of former British Togoland.
The Keta Sea Defence Wall in Ghana was done to defend the coastline from Keta to Hlorve. The defence was constructed to prevent chronic and occasional erosion along the coast and flooding. Also to reclaim land from the Keta Lagoon to widen human settlements and also to build a way linking settlements from Keta to Hlorve. A World Bank analysis from 2010 presents a bleak picture for the remainder of Ghana.
