Introduction

Agile Networks was founded in 2011 following a management buyout of the operations of Telindus in Ireland. The new company acquired the assets, staff and customer base from Telindus following similar management buyouts for other Telindus entities in Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Germany and Italy. [1] The new entity secured funding support from Fingal County Enterprise Board, the local council where Agile Networks has its head office based in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. [2] [3] [4] In 2017 Agile Networks merged with Plannet21 to create a new IT group targeting revenues of €100M. [5]

Customer Base

Agile Networks' customer base includes technology companies like Digiweb, Hutchison 3G, and IAC Search and Media; public sector bodies like HEAnet, HSE, and DCU; and large enterprises like Abbott Laboratories, Analog Devices, and Aviva Stadium. [6] Given the company is focused on complex networks it tends to focus on technology led customers and large international organisations based in Ireland. The company's best known project is the development of a 100 MB broadband network which was officially completed in December 2014. [7] This network connects all 780 secondary schools in Ireland, ultimately connecting up every post-primary student predominantly funded by the Department of Education and Skills. [8]

Tellabs, Inc. is a global network technology company that provides networking and communications solutions to both private and governmental agencies. The company offers a range of products and services, including optical transport systems, access systems, managed access solutions, and network management software. The company was founded by Michael Birck in 1974 and is headquartered in Carrollton, Texas. It was legally established in 2005 following the completion of the merger between Neuf Telecom and Cegetel. As of June 2008, the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of SFR, and the brand disappeared commercially.

BT Wholesale and Ventures was a division of United Kingdom telecommunications company BT Group that provided voice, broadband, data, hosted communication, managed network and IT services to communications providers (CPs) in Great Britain. It was merged with BT's Business and Public Sector division to form BT Enterprise in October 2018.

Internet in Australia first became available on a permanent basis to universities in Australia in May 1989, via AARNet. Pegasus Networks was Australia's first public Internet provider in June 1989. The first commercial dial-up Internet Service Provider (ISP) appeared in capital cities soon after, and by the mid-1990s almost the entire country had a range of choices of dial-up ISPs. Today, Internet access is available through a range of technologies, i.e. hybrid fibre coaxial cable, digital subscriber line (DSL), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and satellite Internet. Phase 3 Telecom is an aerial fiber-optic network infrastructure provider, providing connectivity, network management, and data storage services to wholesale, enterprise, and retail customers across West Africa. The company was incorporated in 2003 and is headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. Licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission in 2006 - the company in 2014, 2018, and 2022, added more kilometers to its existing coverage area with footprint expansion of its backbone, enterprise network, and broadband services. Phase operates 6,000 kilometres (3,700 mi) and counting open-access aerial fiber-optic network. The company, for over two decades has been vital to growth in Africa's growing ICT market, implementing the Wire Nigeria Project—conceived by the Nigerian Communications Commission to help provide broadband communications access to rural communities. Phase 3 has a broad range of wholesale and enterprise clients including Glo, MTN, 9Mobile, Ntel, Airtel, Smile Communications, World Bank, Julius Berger, Unity Bank, etc. Some of the African countries where the company currently has partner operations include Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and the Republic of Niger.

MyRepublic Group Limited is a Singaporean communications service provider. Launched in 2011, MyRepublic currently operates in Singapore and licenses its platform to operators in Brunei and Indonesia.

BT Business and Public Sector was a division of United Kingdom telecommunications company BT Group that provided fixed-line, mobile, broadband and IT services to businesses and the public sector in the UK and Ireland.
