Shakila was an Indian actress, best known for her roles in Guru Dutt's films: Aar Paar (1954) and C.I.D. (1956). Shakila's was born as Badshah Begum on 1 January 1935 in the Middle East. Her younger sisters are Noor Jehan and Nasreen. Their ancestors belonged to the royal families of Afghanistan and Iran. Their paternal grandparents and mother were killed during family feuds over the throne. Their father and his sister Feroza Begum brought the children to Mumbai, India. Shakila and her sisters faced tough times, since their father died soon afterwards. Her aunt, who was engaged to marry a prince, lost him in an accident, and she decided to remain unmarried and raise her three nieces.

Hasratein (Desires) is an Indian television soap opera that was telecast on Zee TV in the mid 1990s. It is based on the Marathi novel "Adhantari" by Late Shri Jaywant Dalvi. Hasratein focuses around successes of extra marital relationships. He directed more than 30 Hindi films in the 1950s and 1960s including several hits like Nagina (1951), Agra Road (1957), Post Box 999 (1958), Satta Bazaar (1959), Dulha Dulhan (1964) and Raaz (1967). He turned to Gujarati cinema with his blockbuster Jesal Toral (1971) and directed more than 25 Gujarati films in the 1970s and 1980s.

Dharmaveer is a 2022 Indian Marathi-language biographical political drama film written and directed by Pravin Tarde and produced by Mangesh Desai under the banner of Zee Studios. It covers the story of late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe. The film features Prasad Oak, Kshitish Date, Makarand Paddhye, Snehal Tarde and Shruti Marathe in the lead roles. The film was released in Indian cinemas on 13 May 2022 and premiered on ZEE5 on 17 June 2022. The film received positive reviews, praising Prasad Oak's performance as Anand Dighe and Pravin Tarde's screenplay, dialogues and direction. In its first week, the film earned ₹13.87 crore and became huge box office success.
