In 1910, the American Farm Management Association was established at Iowa State University. [3] [4] [5] [6] In 1919, it became the American Farm Economics Association. [4] [7] In 1968, a group left the organization and formed the American Agricultural Economics Association. [4] [8] The association later became the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association. [4]
The association holds an annual meeting every year. [9] The Journal of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association was launched in 2021. [10]
Fellows of the association include Scott H. Irwin and Elisabeth Sadoulet. [11]
