Ahmans Pategi OBE, OFR, (born 1914 - 17 July 1977) in Pategi, North Central Nigeria, known as Kwara State, his father was Mohammed Ndeji and mother Hadiza Ndeji, Pategi was the first northern minister of health and minister of pension during the Ahmadu Bello, ruling reign, [1]

Patigi is a town in Kwara State, Nigeria. The town is the headquarters of Patigi Local Government and the Patigi Emirate. It is inhabited by the Nupe people who also exhibit a linguistic repertoire of the Yoruba dialect. They are farmers, aquatic sellers/fishers and traders.

Ahmadu Bello Nigerian politician

Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello KBE was a Nigerian politician who was the first and only premier of the Northern Nigeria region. He also held the title of the Sardauna of Sokoto. Bello and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa were major figures in Northern Nigeria pre-independence politics and both men played major roles in negotiations about the region's place in an independent Nigeria. As leader of the Northern People's Congress, he was a dominant personality in Nigerian politics throughout the early Nigerian Federation and the First Nigerian Republic.

Background

Saba Pategi started his Elementary School in Pategi, 1923-26, And then proceeded to illorin Middle School 1927-31 He went to attended a three-month office procedure course at the Ilorin Provincial Secretariat 1941, then head to London to achieved some programmes and courses in local government 1954[ citation needed ]

Career

He served as chief scribe of Patigi Native Authority 1932-53, also councilor and development secretary with the Lafiagi and Patigi Native Authority from 1953-56. He was appointed Galadiman Patigi 1954 and Native Authority Councilor incharge of the police, forestry, prisons and the local governments in 1956.[ citation needed ]

One year later, Pategi was member of Northern House of Assembly, and still twice a member.[ clarification needed ] In the same year he was appoint Galadiman Patigi and was one of the first cabinet parliamentary, minister in health 1957 twice. He was general secretary of the Northern Peoples Congress, NPC, also he was re-elected as parliamentarian of Pategi and Lafiagi, He serves as northern regional president of the Red Cross1960-64, in 1971 He became Chairman Kwara State Local Government Service Board, till 1972, also chair the Kwara State Council of Art and Culture, [2]
