Ahmed Abdi Ogle

Ahmed Abdi Ogle was a politician from Wajir who was elected three times (in 1963, 1974 and 1983) to the Kenyan Parliament [1] for the Wajir South Constituency under the one-party system. He recently served as National Organising Secretary of DP Kenya whilst the Deputy Mayor of Nairobi.

Ahmed was one of the many children of the famous late Sultan Abdi Ogle.

Prior to his political commitments he served as a teacher and was well revered amongst his peers.

He is to this date one of the only three re-elected members of parliament from Wajir South.

The county has a population of 781,263 2019 and an area of 55,840.6 km2 (21,560.2 sq mi). The county is bordered to the north by Ethiopia, to the northeast by Mandera County, to the east by Somalia, to the south by Garissa County, to the west by Isiolo County and to the northwest by Marsabit County. The Wagalla massacre was a massacre of ethnic Somalis by the Kenyan Army on 10 February 1984 in Wajir County, Kenya. Government troops were ordered to stop clan violence in the area, and did so by first detaining some 5,000 locals at an airstrip, denying them food and water for a week, and then shooting them. The massacre was not investigated by Kenya's government until 2011.

Abdirahman Ali Hassan is a Kenyan politician. He served in the government of Kenya as assistant minister for trade and industry from 2005 to 2007. A member of the Orange Democratic Movement, He was elected to represent the Wajir South Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the Kenyan 2002 parliamentary election. He was also elected to the senate of Kenya in 2013, representing Wajir county, and becoming deputy minority leader in the senate.

Aden Keynan Wehliye is a Member of the National Assembly of Kenya. He served Wajir West constituency from 1997 to 2002 and 2007 to 2013. He then moved to Eldas constituency which was carved from Wajir West. Keynan served as the MP of Eldas in the 11th and 12th parliaments. He represented the Orange Democratic Movement until 2017 when he switched to the Jubilee Party. Keynan was re-elected on the Jubilee ticket in the 2022 elections. He is the longest-serving MP of the 13th Parliament of Kenya.

Wajir North Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of six constituencies in Wajir County. The constituency has seven wards, all electing councillors to the Wajir County Council. The constituency was established for the 1997 elections.

He was previously a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya from Wajir East Constituency in Wajir County. He was elected on the ticket of the United Republican Party (URP) with the support of Jubilee Coalition in 2013.

Abdikadir Ore Ahmed is a Kenyan health professional and politician who was a member of the 11th Kenyan parliament elected from Wajir West Constituency on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in 2013 with the support of CORD Coalition.
