Ahotsa.info is a Spanish online newspaper covering Navarre. It was founded in 2014 and crowdfunded. After the closure of Apurtu.org and Ateak Ireki ordered by the Audiencia Nacional and the later dismissal of the case, a group initiated the Ahotsa.info project to give continuity to the work of the previously closed media outlets. Ahotsa.info has often encountered obstacles to cover protests in Navarre. In March 2014, the National Police Corps attacked a cameraman of Ahotsa.info while covering student protests against the new education law (LOMCE). [2] In 2015, after publishing images of National Police agents during the San Fermín festival, the delegate of the Government Carmen Alba Orduna, sent a letter to Ahotsa.info warning that the new Law of Citizen Security would be applied if they published images of police agents again. [3] [4] In June 2016, a cameraman covering a protest against political corruption in the headquarters of the Socialist Party of Navarre was fined with 540 euros accused of being a "promoter and responsible for the protest." [5]
On 13 July 2018, National Police subpoenaed a member of Ahotsa.info for alleged apology for terrorism. She was released after refusing to declare. The Attorney investigated the media outlet because two news pieces about the prisoners association Euskal Preso Politikoen Kolektiboa (EPPK) where they were referred to as "basque political prisoners." [6] On April 2019 the Ahotsa.info member declared to the Audiencia Nacional through videoconference and was released without charges. [7]

The website is based out of Venezuela and according to Alexa it is one of the top 600 websites visited in the world and among the top visited in Venezuela. According to El Nuevo Herald, La Patilla has hundreds of thousands of visitors reading daily. Since early 2018, the website has been continuously censored in Venezuela by the Nicolás Maduro government.
In 2014, a series of protests, political demonstrations, and civil insurrection began in Venezuela due to the country's high levels of urban violence, inflation, and chronic shortages of basic goods attributed to economic policies such as strict price controls. Mass protesting began in earnest in February following the attempted rape of a student on a university campus in San Cristóbal. Subsequent arrests and killings of student protesters spurred their expansion to neighboring cities and the involvement of opposition leaders. The year's early months were characterized by large demonstrations and violent clashes between protesters and government forces that resulted in nearly 4,000 arrests and 43 deaths, including both supporters and opponents of the government.

The series of protests originally began in February 2014 when hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans protested due to high levels of criminal violence, inflation, and chronic scarcity of basic goods because of policies created by the Venezuelan government though the size of protests had decreased since 2014. Following the 2017 Venezuelan constitutional crisis, protests began to increase greatly throughout Venezuela.
The Operation Anubis was a police operation in Catalonia Spain, initiated on 20 September 2017 by the Civil Guard following orders of the trial court number 13 of Barcelona, directed by judge Juan Antonio Ramírez Sunyer. Its aim was to dismantle the framework of the Catalan independence referendum of 1 October 2017, that was suspended on 6 September 2017 by the Constitutional Court of Spain as breaching the 1978 Constitution. Different headquarters of the Generalitat de Catalunya were searched and 14 people were arrested, including high ranking administrative staff, and company CEO's involved in the preparation of the referendum. Simultaneously, several printing and media companies were searched looking for ballot papers and boxes. More than 140 websites were shut down by the Spanish justice and police.

Somatemps is a collective in Catalonia generally considered to be aligned with the far-right of Spain and also of being Spanish nationalist. They state to be committed to defend what they call "the hispanic identity of Catalonia". It was founded between 2011 and November 16, 2013 in Santpedor (Bages), where one of its founders, Josep Ramon Bosch, resides. The organisation is led by Javier Barraycoa. Currently Somatemps has around 300 members. The name of Somatemps was intended as word-play between "Som a temps"—"we are in time" —and the medieval Catalan militias Sometent. Somatemps has contributed to the creation of the association Catalan Civil Society.
The La Manada rape case began with the gang rape of an 18-year-old woman on 7 July 2016 during the San Fermín celebrations in Pamplona, Navarre, Spain. The case drew intense public scrutiny as it called into question the definition of rape under Spanish law. Five men, including a member of the Civil Guard and another of the Spanish Army from Seville, filmed themselves repeatedly attacking the woman in the vestibule of an apartment building. La Manada means "wolf pack" in Spanish.
The Altsasu incident is a judicial case against eight young people from Altsasu, a small town in Navarre, Spain, for their involvement in a fight taking place on 15 October 2016 at a bar in which two off-duty Civil Guard officers stationed in the town and their girlfriends sustained injuries. One of the officers was knocked down, with the other victims reported to have suffered "psychological trauma". The lawsuit was initially conducted by the judge of the Spanish special court Audiencia Nacional Carmen Lamela. As of March 2018, Concepción Espejel was appointed as magistrate ahead of the trial held in late April.

The Cassandra case was a Spanish court case against Cassandra Vera Paz. Paz was charged in 2016 with injury to victims of terrorism after she posted a series of tweets about the assassination of Luis Carrero Blanco. In 2017, the Audiencia Nacional sentenced her to one year in prison plus a seven year penalty of absolute disqualification, which disqualifies a convict from holding public office or employment, and disallows a convict to obtain government grants, scholarships, or any public aid. The ruling was reversed in 2018 by the Supreme Court of Spain.
Juan Requesens, a deputy of the Venezuelan National Assembly, was arrested as a suspect in the Caracas drone attack, an alleged assassination plot on the Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. The circumstances of his arrest and detention are controversial, and irregularities surround the legal proceedings. Requesens has been imprisoned in El Helicoide since his arrest on 7 August 2018, with allegations of torture to coerce a confession, and delays impeding the legal process and hearings.

Amen, more commonly known as The Pederasty, is a conceptual, critical and process artwork by Abel Azcona. Over a period of several months, Azcona attended Eucharists in churches and parishes that were linked to his own childhood. In the churches, the artist keeps the wafer or consecrated host given to the attendees of the communion. He gathered two hundred and forty-two wafers, which was the number of cases of pederasty reported in the north of Spain during the previous decade. With the wafers, he made a work in which the word Pederasty could be read. The work was first exhibited at a central Madrid art gallery in the summer of 2015.
