Dhaka,formerly known as Dacca,is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is the ninth-largest and seventh-most densely populated city in the world. Dhaka is a megacity,and has a population of 10.2 million residents as of 2022,and a population of over 22.4 million residents in Dhaka Metropolitan Area. It is widely considered to be the most densely populated built-up urban area in the world. Dhaka is the most important cultural,economic,and scientific hub of Eastern South Asia,as well as a major Muslim-majority city. Dhaka ranks third in South Asia and 39th in the world in terms of GDP. Lying on the Ganges Delta,it is bounded by the Buriganga,Turag,Dhaleshwari and Shitalakshya rivers. Dhaka is also the largest Bengali-speaking city in the world.

Eight major national highways connect the capital,Dhaka,with divisional and district headquarters,port cities,and international routes. Despite this,vehicle usage per capita remains low,with non-motorised modes prevailing. However,Bangladesh's roads are unsafe,having one of the highest road accident fatality rates. They also suffer from high congestion,as well as severe air and noise pollution.
Divisions are the first-level administrative divisions in Bangladesh. As of 2023,there are eight divisions of Bangladesh,each named after the major city within its jurisdiction that also serves as the administrative seat of that division. Each division is divided into several districts which are further subdivided into upazilas,then union councils.

The division remains a population magnet,covers an area of 20,508.8 km2 with a population in excess of 44 million,It is the most populous country second level division of the world,growing at 1.94% rate since prior count,compared with national average of 1.22%. However,national figures may include data skewing expatriation of male labor force as gender ratio is skewed towards females.
Begum Sufia Kamal was a Bangladeshi poet,feminist leader,and political activist. She took part in the Bengali nationalist movement of the 1950s and civil society leader in independent Bangladesh. She led feminist activism and was a president of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad. She died in 1999 and was the first woman to be given a state funeral in Bangladesh.
Abdur Rahman Biswas was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the President of Bangladesh from 1991 to 1996. Biswas represented Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly prior to the independence of Bangladesh.

BAF Shaheen College Dhaka also known as BAFSD or Dhaka Shaheen is a co-educational Bangladeshi college established and managed by the Bangladesh Air Force. and primarily for the children of Air Force personnel. but civilians' children can also study at the college.
Barishal City Corporation is a self-governed municipal administration in Bangladesh that administers and oversees development and maintenance works in the city of Barisal. The corporation covers an area of over 58 square kilometers in the Barisal district where over five million people live as permanent residents. The body was known as Barisal Municipality previously,until it obtained the city corporation status by a ministry of local government declaration on 25 July 2002.

Barisal-5 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad of Bangladesh since 2019 by Zahid Faruk of the Awami League.
Majibur Rahman Sarwar is a Bangladeshi politician and joint secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He is the former mayor of Barishal City Corporation and former member of parliament from Barisal-5.
Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah is a Bangladeshi politician and businessman. He served as mayor of the Barisal City Corporation from 2018 to 2023. He is a son of Awami League politician Abul Hasanat Abdullah and grandson of Abdur Rab Serniabat.
