Career

Aidan Dunne has written regularly for The Irish Times for decades. He was art critic of In Dublin magazine, Sunday Press and the Sunday Tribune . Dunne has written extensively on Irish art, with essays on Michael Mulcahy, Victor Sloan, Patrick Scott, Hughie O'Donoghue, Patrick Swift, and Jennifer Trouton. [1] He has also written an essay on Russian photographer and artist Alexey Titarenko. [2]

Mary FitzGerald is an Irish artist. She lives and works in Dublin and County Waterford. After graduating from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin in 1977, she moved to Japan where she lived and exhibited between 1979 and 1981. FitzGerald has held numerous solo exhibitions in Ireland, Europe and the United States and has participated in group exhibitions worldwide. She has represented Ireland at ROSC, L'Imaginaire Irlandais and the XVIII Bienal de Sao Paulo.

Danny Osborne English sculptor

Danny Osborne is an artist born in Dorset, England in 1949. He is a resident of Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada and Cork, Ireland. Osborne studied at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art. He is best known for his public sculptures, particularly his Oscar Wilde Memorial Sculpture in Merrion Square Park, located across from Ireland's National Gallery; listed by The Irish Times as one of the sites to see before you die along with an essay by Paula Murphy in the book Wilde: The Irishman and other notable public work including "First Breath" at Millennium Park in Kilrush, Co. Clare. In 1986, while living on the Beara peninsula in West Cork, Osborne and his series of porcelain figures were the subject of the documentary "Birds in Porcelain" by David Shaw-Smith.

Marie Hanlon

Marie Hanlon is a Dublin-based Irish artist working in a variety of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, video and installation. She has collaborated with Irish composers, most notably Rhona Clarke, in creating works which can be realised in both concert performance and gallery situations.

Anita Groener

Anita Groener is a Dutch-born artist now based in Dublin, Ireland. She makes paintings, monumental site-specific drawings, film and animation which she exhibits internationally. Groener graduated in 1980 with a BA from the Mollerinstituut Moller Institute in Tilburg, the Netherlands. She received an MA from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Arnhem, the Netherlands, in 1982, and moved to Dublin in the same year. In 2005 she was elected by her peers to be a member of Aosdána, the cultural body which recognises major, sustained contribution to the arts in Ireland. Charles Tyrrell is an Irish painter and printmaker born in Trim, Co. Meath in 1950. Tyrrell graduated from NCAD in 1974. In 1984 Tyrell moved to Allihies on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork where he lives and works.
