Airlock Alpha, formerly SyFy Portal, was an entertainment news website focusing on science-fiction, fantasy and comic book television series and films.
After a collaboration between Michael Hinman and Greg Boubel, [1] the site debuted August 13, 1998, as "Syfyman's World", later renamed "SyFy World". In 2000, SyFy World became part of Trek Nation, the parent network of TrekToday. In 2001, the site merged with the Star Trek Portal website and relaunched as "SyFy Portal".
The website announced a rebranding under the new name of Airlock Alpha on February 23, 2009. No reason outside of a new marketing strategy was given for the name change at the time, but on March 16, 2009, Sci Fi Channel announced that it was changing its name to Syfy, [2] and Airlock Alpha revealed that it had sold its former brand name to an undisclosed party a month earlier. Airlock Alpha created the Genre Awards in 1999, which has handed out awards for genre television and movies nearly every year since. [4] It is based upon fan-based voting. [5] The awards were later renamed as the Portal Awards. [4]

Syfy is the French-speaking 24-hour science fiction entertainment channel based on the US version of the same name. The channel launched on December 2, 2005, under the branding of Sci-fi. "World Enough and Time" is the third episode of the American science fiction web television series Star Trek: New Voyages. It was released on the internet on August 23, 2007, at the same time as a premiere in Beverly Hills, California. It was written by Michael Reaves and Marc Scott Zicree, and directed by Zicree. Set in the 23rd century, the series follows the adventures of Captain James T. Kirk and his crew aboard the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise. In this episode, when a failed Romulan weapons test traps Enterprise in an inter-dimensional rift, Lt. Hikaru Sulu and another crewmate are sent over to the wreckage of the Romulan ships. The anomaly's effect on the transporter causes Sulu to come back 30 years older and with a daughter, Alana.
