Airwide Solutions was a privately held (majority shareholder smac|partners Germany), but United States-based mobile messaging and wireless internet infrastructure company. It was acquired by Mavenir Systems in May 2011. [1]

Mavenir Systems

Mavenir Systems was a software-based telecommunications networking provider based in Richardson, Texas. The company's software was aimed to deliver internet protocol (IP)-based voice, video, rich communications and enhanced messaging services to clients. Mavenir Systems provided service to approximately 120 mobile networks globally.

The company was founded in 2004 through the acquisition of Schlumberger's Messaging Solutions unit, [2] formerly Sema Group by Taral Networks. Airwide later acquired Finnish company First Hop in 2007. [3]

Schlumberger Limited is the world's largest oilfield services company. Schlumberger employs approximately 100,000 people representing more than 140 nationalities working in more than 85 countries. Schlumberger has four principal executive offices located in Paris, Houston, London, and The Hague.

Sema Group

Sema Group plc was an Anglo-French IT services company. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. It was acquired by Schlumberger in 2001.

Neil Papworth, a test engineer at Sema at the time, sent the world's first SMS message from an R&D lab using a personal computer to Richard Jarvis of Vodafone using an Orbitel 901 handset in December 1992. [4]

Briton Neil Papworth is a software architect, designer and developer. Papworth is known as the sender of the first text message in 1992.

In 2008, Airwide Solutions won the gold award for innovation at the Mobile Advertising and Marketing Awards. [5]

In May 2011, the company was purchased by Mavenir Systems, Inc. [6]

Former LHS Telekommunikation GmbH & Co. KG, is now a fully integrated part of Ericsson. From 28 January 2011, the Ericsson brand is used for all billing and customer care solutions of the company.

Proofpoint, Inc.

Proofpoint is an enterprise security company based in Sunnyvale, California that provides software as a service and products for inbound email security, outbound data loss prevention, social media, mobile devices, digital risk, email encryption, electronic discovery ("eDiscovery”), and email archiving. It claims over half of the Fortune 100 as users of its solutions.

Having been acquired by Comverse, Inc. on 6 August 2015, Acision was known as Xura, a new company launched on 9 September 2015 combining both companies. In 2017, Xura became Mavenir after Xura acquired a start up called Ranzure and Mavenir Systems. Prior to this, it was a privately held mobile communications software company specialising in messaging systems that enable popular services such as text messaging or Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), voicemail, IP Messaging, Mobile Value Added Services and Enterprise Mobility Solutions.

Enpocket was a global mobile media company providing integrated entertainment and mobile marketing services. The company was founded in 2001, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Nokia acquired the company in 2007 and merged it into its Services division as Nokia Interactive Advertising. In November 2009 the business unit was moved to Nokia's NAVTEQ subsidiary and renamed to NAVTEQ Media Solutions, while the creative services team left to form Movement, a mobile marketing agency based in London.

Syniverse

Syniverse is a global company that provides technology and business services for a number of telecommunications companies as well as a variety of other multinational enterprises. The company began in 1987 as a GTE business unit called GTE Telecommunications Services Inc.

MoVoxx is a mobile advertising company that places short, interactive ads under opt-in SMS content. MoVoxx provides marketers with access to a mobile audience by partnering with SMS content publishers who send out mass text messages to consumers. MoVoxx uses the ad placement to engage in demographic, contextual and device targeting. The interactive advertisements include SMS Reply, Click to WAP, Click to Video, Click to Buy and Click to Twitter.

Founded in 1998, Continuous Computing is a privately held company based in San Diego that provides telecom systems made up of telecom platforms and Trillium software, including protocol software stacks for femtocells and 4G wireless / Long Term Evolution (LTE). The company also sells standalone Trillium software products and ATCA hardware components, as well as professional services. Continuous Computing’s Trillium software addresses LTE Femtocells and pico / macro eNodeBs, as well as the Evolved Packet Core (EPC), Mobility Management Entity (MME), Serving Gateway (SWG) and Evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG).

Mblox Inc. was a global company that provided Saas-based mobile messaging solutions to enterprises, including global one-way and two-way SMS, MMS, push notifications, short codes and virtual mobile numbers. Mblox Ltd. was founded in 1999, in London, United Kingdom but later Mblox inc. became the US based parent company after the successful merger with Mobilesys. The company was headquartered in Campbell, California, USA, with additional offices in over 30 countries, including London, Stockholm, Paris, Madrid, Singapore and Sydney.

Zamano plc was an Internet and mobile technology company based in Dublin. The company decided in February 2017 to bring their premium rate SMS business lines to a close by the end of 2017. In September 2017 it was reported that the company, following a management buy-out, is considering investing in oil and gas exploration companies.

OpenMarket Inc. is a privately owned subsidiary of Amdocs that provides cloud-based mobile messaging solutions to enterprises, including global one-way and two-way SMS, MMS, RCS, and short codes, local numbers and text-enabled toll-free messaging solutions. In June 2006 the company was acquired by Amdocs, Inc. The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, United States, with offices in Detroit, London, Sydney, Pune, and Guadalajara.

4INFO American national mobile advertising corporation

4INFO is an American corporation that provides cross-channel identity mapping and media activation solutions for the targeting of consumer audiences, combined with delivery and tracking of digital advertisements, across multiple devices, including: computers, mobile phones, Over-the-top (OTT) and Connected TV (CTV). The company's products collect data on the extent to which its clients' customers are exposed to their advertisements.

Esendex is an international mobile communications provider with customers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Australia, the United States, and DACH territories. Headquartered in Nottingham, England, the company also has branches in Barcelona and Melbourne. The company's services are used by more than 13,000 businesses around the world.
