Deshabandhu Ajit Jayaratne is the former chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange, the Finance Commission of Sri Lanka and of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. [1]

Corporate experience

Ajit Jayaratne currently serves as the Chairman of KIA Motors and as a Singer (Sri Lanka), , Colombo Fort Land and Building PLC, Kotagala Plantations PLC, C.W. Mackie PLC, and ACL Cables PLC. He has previously held positions as a director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, DFCC Bank, Associated Electrical Corporation Ltd, Delmege Forsyth Co., and People's Bank. Additionally, he has served as the former Chairman of Forbes and Walkers Ltd. and Apollo Hospitals. [2]

Ajit Jayaratne recently launched Innovest Investments (Pvt) Ltd, a boutique investment management company. [1] Jayaratne, a graduate in Economics from the University of Southampton, is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He previously served as the High Commissioner to Singapore and is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants, UK, and Sri Lanka.

Renuka Holdings PLC, also called Renuka Group, is a conglomerate company in Sri Lanka. Ceylonese businessman Alfred Thambiyah laid the foundations of the Renuka Group by acquiring the Crago Boat Dispatch Company in 1936 and establishing Renuka Hotel, named after his youngest daughter Indu Renuka in 1969. Indu Renuka Rajiyah founded Renuka Enterprises in 1975, and Renuka Holdings in 1979 marked the formal beginning of the group. Renuka Holdings went public in 2008 and following the listing on the Colombo Stock Exchange, the company pursued a growth strategy. Darshan Ravindra Abeysuriya also popularly known as Ravi Abeysuriya was a Sri Lankan accountant, educator and financial analyst. He was regarded as one of the topmost finance sector professionals in Sri Lanka. He was also considered as officially the first Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder in Sri Lanka. He also served as the President of the Colombo Stock Brokers Association for a brief stint.
