Akasha are an English electronic music duo, comprising Charlie Casey and Damian Hand. They were originally signed to the Wall of Sound record label, but now are releasing through Ra Recordings.
Formed in 1994 in Brixton, London, Casey contributes electronics, guitar, and vocals, with Hand contributing saxophone, flute, and vocals. [1] Their first track appeared on a DJ Bizzniss EP, released on Payday Recordings. The track was then licensed through Pressure Drop, who recommended them to Wall Of Sound. This led to the release of the Jazadelica EP in 1995, and a performance on The Jazz Stage at Glastonbury Festival, [2] followed by the singles "Spanish Fly" in 1996 and "Brown Sugar" in 1997. Appearances on various compilations followed, and the release of their first album, Cinematique, in 1998, including guest appearances from Neneh Cherry and Maxi Jazz. [2] [3]
Akasha then toured Belgium, France and Germany. In 1999, all tracks on Cinematique were remixed and released as a remix album.
Casey and Hand have worked with bands and artists like Lemon Jelly, Neneh Cherry, Groove Armada, Art of Noise and Jerry Dammers' Spatial AKA Orchestra.
Akasha released their second album Love Philtre Magick in 2003, [4] and third album Hail the sun in 2015.
Vocal guests on Hail the Sun include St Etienne's Sarah Cracknell, Heidi Vogel and Polish singer Anita Lipnicka.

Prince Far I was a Jamaican reggae deejay and producer, and a Rastafarian. He was known for his gruff voice and critical assessment of the Jamaican government. His track "Heavy Manners" used lyrics about government measures initiated at the time against violent crime.

Homebrew is the second studio album by Swedish musician Neneh Cherry. It was released in October 1992 via Circa Records. The album features several different genres, including hip hop, R&B, dance, and pop. The album photography was by Jean-Baptiste Mondino. Recording sessions took place at Cherry Bear Studios in London and at the Cherry Bear Mobile, except "Sassy" was additionally recorded at Grapehouse Studios in Copenhagen and "Trout" was additionally recorded at Power Play Studios in New York. Gang Starr co-wrote and produced "Sassy" and "I Ain't Gone Under Yet". Geoff Barrow wrote and produced "Somedays".
1 Giant Leap is the debut album by English electronic music duo 1 Giant Leap. Beginning in October 1999, its two members, Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman, travelled across the world for six months to record vocals and music by various vocalists and musicians from Senegal, Ghana, South Africa, Uganda, India, Nepal, Sikkim, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, before returning to London in March 2000. The album was released on DVD in September 2002.
Insight Out is the third album by the American pop band the Association and was released on June 8, 1967 on Warner Bros. Records. It was the band's first album release for the Warner Brothers label and it became one of the top selling LPs of the year in America, peaking at number 8 on the Billboard Top LPs chart and being certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. The track was released through Sony Records in 1987, and was produced by Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW) and mixed by Phil Harding. The track's B-side, "Looking Good Diving with the Wild Bunch", featured Neneh Cherry on vocals, and was a tribute to the 'buffalo stance', a type of pose.
