Akhilesh Yadav Indian Politician

Akhilesh Yadav is an Indian politician and president of the Samajwadi Party who served as the 20th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017. Having assumed office on 15 March 2012 at the age of 38, he is the youngest person to have held the office. Yadav is the Member of Parliament for Azamgarh in the 17th Lok Sabha, being elected in 2019. His first significant success in politics was being elected as the Member of the Lok Sabha for the Kannauj constituency in 2000. Mulayam Singh Yadav is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh and the founder-patron of the Samajwadi Party. He served for three non-consecutive terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1989 to 1991, 1993 to 1995 and 2003 to 2007 respectively and also served as the Minister of Defence, Government of India from 1996 to 1998 in the United Front. Known for his studies on plant genomics and biotechnology, Tyagi is an elected fellow of all the three major Indian science academies namely Indian Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy and National Academy of Sciences, India as well as The World Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India awarded him the National Bioscience Award for Career Development, one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to biosciences in 1999.
