The Nawabs of Bhopal were the Muslim rulers of Bhopal, now part of Madhya Pradesh, India. The nawabs first ruled under the Mughal Empire from 1707 to 1737, under the Maratha Empire from 1737 to 1818, then under British rule from 1818 to 1947, and independently thereafter until it was acceded to the Union of India in 1949. The Alexandria expedition of 1807, also known as the Fraser expedition and the 1807 British Invasion of Egypt was a failed attempt by the British Army and Royal Navy during the Anglo-Turkish War of the Napoleonic Wars to overthrow the Ottoman Viceroy Muhammad Ali and establish the Mamluk beys as British clients. Another aim of the invasion was to capture the port city of Alexandria with the goal of gaining a secure and reliable supply of grain for British field armies in Europe and a strong naval base of operations against the French and Ottoman Empires in the Mediterranean Sea. It was a part of a larger strategy against the Ottoman-French alliance of the Ottoman Sultan Selim III.
Ghadir Khumm or the event of Ghadir Khumm was a sermon delivered by the Islamic prophet Muhammad at a pool in the valley of Khumm, shortly before his death in 632 CE. The place is located near the settlement of al-Johfah, today's Rabigh, on the path between Mecca to Medina at the Red Sea coast. During the sermon, Muhammad made a declaration in favour of Ali ibn Abi Talib.

The Kilwa Sultanate was a sultanate, centered at Kilwa, whose authority, at its height, stretched over the entire length of the Swahili Coast. According to the legend, it was founded in the 10th century by Ali ibn al-Hassan Shirazi, a Persian prince of Shiraz. His family ruled the Sultanate until the year 1277. They were replaced by the Arab family of Abu Moaheb until 1505, when they were overthrown by a Portuguese invasion. By 1513, the sultanate was already fragmented into smaller states, many of which became protectorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The 2019 ACC Western Region T20 was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament held in Oman from 20 to 24 January 2019. The five participating teams were Bahrain, Kuwait, Maldives, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The matches were all played at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat. All participating nations made their T20I debuts during the tournament, following the decision of the ICC to grant full Twenty20 International status to all its members from 1 January 2019. Saudi Arabia defeated Qatar – who had been unbeaten in the round-robin stage – in the final by 7 wickets. Qatar's Tamoor Sajjad was named the player of the tournament.
