Alain Dostie (born September 12, 1943) is a Canadian cinematographer, film director and screenwriter. His work includes Silk , The Red Violin and The Confessional . He was nominated for a Genie Award for Best Achievement in Cinematography for his work in Silk.

The Prix Iris is a Canadian film award, presented annually by Québec Cinéma, which recognizes talent and achievement in the mainly francophone feature film industry in Quebec. Until 2016, it was known as the Jutra Award in memory of influential Quebec film director Claude Jutra, but Jutra's name was withdrawn from the awards following the publication of Yves Lever's biography of Jutra, which alleged that he had sexually abused children.
Possible Worlds is a 2000 Canadian film adaptation of the 1990 play of the same name by John Mighton. The film is directed by Robert Lepage, and stars Tom McCamus and Tilda Swinton. The film's musical score is by George Koller.
The 19th Genie Awards were held, by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, on February 4, 1999 to honour Canadian films released in 1998. It marked only the second time in the 1990s, after the 16th Genie Awards in January 1996, that the awards were held in the winter of the year following the year in which eligible films were released, rather than the late fall of the same year; the awards have since retained the winter scheduling. The ceremony was once again aired on CBC Television, and a post-event highlights show aired on Radio Canada.
