The Edgar Allan Poe Awards, popularly called the Edgars, are presented every year by the Mystery Writers of America, based in New York City. Named after American writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849), a pioneer in the genre, the awards honor the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction, television, film, and theater published or produced in the previous year.
Artemis Fowl is an Irish young adult fantasy novel written by Irish author Eoin Colfer. It is the first book in the Artemis Fowl series, the first cycle of The Fowl Adventures, followed by Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident. Richard Allen Lupoff was an American science-fiction and mystery author, who also wrote humor, satire, nonfiction and reviews. He was an expert on the writing of Edgar Rice Burroughs, and had an equally strong interest in H. P. Lovecraft.
