Robert Emmet was an Irish Republican, orator and rebel leader. Following the suppression of the United Irish uprising in 1798, he sought to organise a renewed attempt to overthrow the British Crown and Protestant Ascendancy in Ireland, and to establish a nationally representative government. Emmet entertained, but ultimately abandoned, hopes of immediate French assistance and of coordination with radical militants in Great Britain. In Ireland, many of the surviving veterans of '98 hesitated to lend their support, and his rising in Dublin in 1803 proved abortive.

Still is a 2014 British drama film written and directed by Simon Blake, adapted from his play Lazarus Man. It premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July 2014, winning Best International 1st Feature Film and was released in the UK in May 2015. Simon Blake won the Best Director at the London Independent Film Festival in 2015. Still was nominated for the Roger Ebert Award at the Chicago International Film Festival in 2014.
The 14th IFTA Film & Drama Awards took place at the Mansion House on 8 April 2017 in Dublin, honouring Irish film and television drama released in 2016. Deirdre O'Kane hosted the film awards ceremony.
Barber is a 2023 Irish thriller film starring Aidan Gillen. The film is written by Fiona Bergin and Fintan Connolly, produced by Bergin and directed by Connolly. It premiered at the 2023 Dublin International Film Festival.
