Alasdhair McFarlane (born 29 August 1984 in Scotland), is a former Scottish U21 and Scotland Club XV international rugby union player, formerly of Glasgow Warriors. McFarlane played at Scrum-Half.

Amateur career

McFarlane played for Hillhead Jordanhill [1] before moving on to play for Glasgow Hutchesons Aloysians. [2] When he joined Glasgow Warriors he also played for Ayr. [3]

Professional career

He was with the Warriors in season 2004-05. He played against Sale Sharks on 20 August 2004. He made the squad away to Newport Gwent Dragons in January 2005; [4] [5] home to Ospreys that same month but did not play; [6] and away to Munster Rugby in February 2005 [7] where he came on a substitute for Graeme Beveridge in his competitive debut in the Celtic League. In season 2005-06, McFarlane was again playing for Glasgow Warriors. He came on as sub in their match against Rotherham Titans. [10]

He started the next Warriors match against Edinburgh Rugby. [11] [12]

He was named in the Warriors Heineken Cup squad for their campaign in Europe that season. [12]

International career

McFarlane played for the Scotland Under 21 side, playing in the Under 21 World Cup for Scotland. [13] [12] [14] [15]

Dragons are one of the four professional rugby union regional teams in Wales. They are owned by the Welsh Rugby Union and play their home games at Rodney Parade, Newport and at other grounds around the region. The 2007–08 Celtic League was the seventh Celtic League season and the second with Magners as title sponsor. The season began on 31 August 2007 and finished on the weekend beginning 10 May 2008. Some disruption to fixtures occurred as a result of the 2007 Rugby World Cup, which took place during September and October 2007.

Ben Daly is an Australian former rugby union player. He played his club rugby for various clubs including Glasgow Warriors, Worcester Warriors and Newport Gwent Dragons.

The 2008–09 Celtic League was the eighth Celtic League season and the third with Magners as title sponsor. The season began in September 2008 and ended in May 2009. Ten teams played each other on a home-and-away basis, with teams earning four points for a win, and a bonus point for scoring four or more tries in a match. Losing teams also earned a bonus point if they lost by seven points or less.

The 2010–11 Magners League was the tenth Celtic League season and the fifth with Magners as title sponsor. The regular season began on 3 September 2010 and finished on the weekend of 6–8 May 2011. During these stages, each team played every other team both home and away and were awarded points according to the standard bonus point system. This was the second season to follow the play-off structure to determine the Magners League champion, with the top four teams qualifying for the semi-finals. Kevin Bryce is a Scotland international rugby union player who plays as a Hooker for Pro14 side Glasgow Warriors. He has also played at Tighthead Prop and Flanker and has previously played for Edinburgh and Yorkshire Carnegie.

The Celtic Cup was a rugby union cup competition featuring regional and provincial teams from Ireland, Scotland and Wales that ran for two seasons between 2003 and 2005. Adamson played professionally for Glasgow Warriors and London Scottish and at amateur level for Glasgow Hawks. Adamson is now a SRU referee for the Pro14, European Professional Club Rugby and World Rugby
