Alaska Educational Radio System (AERS) is an Alaskan non-profit organization and is licensee of radio stations that are affiliated with Pacifica Radio, National Public Radio and other community radio and public broadcasting networks. AERS has studios in Anchorage and Soldotna.
AERS operates community radio stations KWMD (90.7 FM) and previously, KABN-FM (89.7) which broadcasts cover much of Southcentral Alaska including Anchorage, Eagle River, Kasilof, Kenai, Nikiski, Palmer, Soldotna, Sterling and Wasilla. AERS is further affiliated with KEUL (88.9 FM) located in Girdwood.
AERS has facilities pending in several additional communities including Fairbanks, Homer and Seward.

Seward is an incorporated home rule city in Alaska, United States. Located on Resurrection Bay, a fjord of the Gulf of Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula, Seward is situated on Alaska's southern coast, approximately 120 miles (190 km) by road from Alaska's largest city, Anchorage.

The AST is also involved in apprehending fugitives as part of the Alaska Fugitive Task Force, an inter-agency collaborative of Alaska police departments that cooperates with police agencies throughout the United States and less commonly with Interpol in apprehending wanted men and women. Unlike many lower 48 states, the AST also serves as Alaska’s primary environmental law enforcement agency; troopers assigned to the AST’s Division of Alaska Wildlife Troopers are known as "Alaska Wildlife Troopers" and primarily serve as game wardens, although they retain the same powers as other Alaskan state troopers.

The Hour of Slack was a one-hour radio program produced by the Church of the SubGenius centering on the King of Slack, J. R. "Bob" Dobbs. Reverend Ivan Stang presented his own commentary, along with recorded material from all SubGenius radio and stage shows, bands, ranters, media barrage collage artists, and selections from the indie audio underground created by various SubGenii and others. 1,890 segments of this show had been broadcast before it was discontinued in June 2022. Most segments can now be listened to on the Internet Archive. It is syndicated across North America, and weekly shows are available by mail. Originally created in Dallas, TX for local radio station KNON, the show now originates either in pre-recorded form from the Church of the SubGenius headquarters in Cleveland Heights, OH, or occasionally performed live at WCSB-FM on the campus of Cleveland State University. The show is also available as a podcast in iTunes
