Johan Albert Brommels (7 February 1891 - 15 June 1962) was a Finnish schoolteacher,journalist and politician.
He was born in Övermark. His father was Johan Henrik Brommels and his mother was Ulrika Wilhelmina med Mickelsdotter. He was married to Anna Olivia Stenfors in 1915 and had 4 kids. [1] He started as a school teacher by profession. He taught the elementary school in Vörå from 1914 -1915,primary school in Bergöfrom 1915 -1922 and again elementary school in Närpes from 1922 -1955. [2]
He later worked as postman (1915 -1920) and as locksmith (1915 - 1921) in Bergö. As a journalist,he worked as an editor at Vasa-Posten in 1920 and from 1956 to 1960 in KasköTidning and Syd-Österbotten. [2]
He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1945 to 1951,representing the Swedish People's Party of Finland (SFP). When he served in Parliament,he was a member of the Committee on Education and of the Committee on Economic Affairs. He represented the southern constituency of Vaasa County. He was a presidential elector in 1950 and 1956 and also held positions of trust in Bergöand Närpes Municipal Council. Other positions of trust that he held were as chairman to Southern Ostrobothnia Teacher's Association and as secretary of Southern Ostrobothnia Song and Music Association. Lastly,he also held a position of trust at the Central Board of the Finnish Association of Swedish Primary School Teachers. [2]
Juho Kusti Paasikivi was a Finnish politician who served as the seventh president of Finland from 1946 to 1956. Representing the Finnish Party until its dissolution in 1918 and then the National Coalition Party,he previously served as senator,member of parliament,envoy to Stockholm (1936–1939) and Moscow (1940–1941),and Prime Minister of Finland. He also held several other positions of trust,and was an influential figure in Finnish economics and politics for over fifty years.

Sandler is the only social democratic prime minister who did not also hold the post of party chairman. He is also the second-youngest prime minister of Sweden,aged 41 when he took office.

Lieutenant General Gustaf Peder Wilhelm Dyrssen was a Swedish Army officer and Olympic modern pentathlete. Dyrssen had an extensive and distinguished military career,starting as a second lieutenant in the Svea Artillery Regiment in 1912. Over the years,he rose through the ranks,serving in various capacities,including as a captain in the General Staff and as the commander of the Svea Artillery Regiment. His career highlights include being appointed major in 1934,major general in 1944,and eventually serving as the military commander of the IV Military District and the Commandant General in Stockholm from 1945 to 1957. Dyrssen retired from the Army in 1957 but continued as lieutenant general in the reserve.
Grönvik glasbruk or simply Grönvik was a glassworks in the present-day Grönvik village in Korsholm,Western Finland. It was founded by merchant Johan Grönberg and existed from 1812 to 1907. Several glass manufactures were produced at Grönvik. At first bottles and drinking-glass were made here,but beginning in the 1890s solely window glass. Also pharmaceutical glass was manufactured. The glassworks produced as the first factory in Finland pressed glass,which came about from the 1840s. The domestic market for glass was during the time of the glassworks smallish and glassblowing products were exported to e.g. Lübeck,Saint Petersburg,Stockholm and Denmark,as well as to other parts of Europe. Grönvik was able to successfully assert its position,despite the competition from other glassworks in Finland. Eventually,it became the most distinguished in the country. The glassworks also become the largest in the Nordic countries.
Hjalmar Johan Fredrik Procopé was a Finnish politician and a diplomat from the Swedish People's Party. Procopéwas a minister in several cabinets in the 1920s and 1930s.
Kalervo Kurkiala was a Finnish soldier who later became a pastor. During World War I,he served as a volunteer in the German light infantry,his first engagement being on the Misa River in Latvia on the eastern front in 1916. He was a battalion commander in the White Army during the Finnish Civil War,which broke out in 1918. After being ordained in 1919,for a while he was an army chaplain before assuming civilian duties as a pastor and teacher. For several years,he served with the Seamen's mission in Australia. During World War II,in 1941,Kurkiala volunteered as chaplain to the Finnish volunteer brigade in the Waffen-SS. After the war,for many years,he was a pastor in Sweden.

Eino Oskari Pekkala was a Finnish lawyer and politician. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland,representing the Socialist Electoral Organisation of Workers and Smallholders 1927–1930 and the Finnish People's Democratic League 1945–1948. In the 1920−1930s,Pekkala was twice in prison for his political activities,and he was even kidnapped by the fascist Lapua Movement in 1930. As the political situation in Finland changed after the World War II,Pekkala was the Minister of Education 1945–1946,and the Minister of Justice 1946–1948.
Johan Albert Edvard von Julin was a Finnish businessman and vuorineuvos,who served as the CEO of Fiskars Ab from 1875,rescuing the company from financial difficulties. He was the uncle of Gustaf Mannerheim,who was later known as the Marshal of Finland and the Commander-in-chief of the Finnish Defence Forces.

Bergö is an island and former municipality of Finland in the Coastal Ostrobothnia region. The municipality of Bergöwas incorporated with Malax in 1973. The island's only connection to the mainland is currently the year-round ferry.
