Alenne Menget

Alenne Menget was born in Bamenda, Cameroon in 1975. He studied history at the University of Buea and investigative journalism at the World Bank Institute of New York. [1] He is an actor, documentary film producer/director, and narrator [2] who was termed the best African Actor, dedicated by the Golden Academic Awards organizers in Ghana, [3] and has featured in many popular Cameroonian movies including Nganu released recently in 2023.

Early life

Alenne Menget was born in Bamenda, Cameroon in 1975. His education kicked off at GS Atuakom where he had his First School Leaving Certificate. He later moved on to PSS Mankon, and later GBHS Bamenda where he obtained his Ordinary Level Certificate and Advanced Level Certificate from PHS Batibo thereafter.

Career

Menget started his filmmaking career in 2008, two years after his acting debut in 2006, where he featured in several movies like Sacrament, Murder in the Police Station, Viral Ad,and Pink Poison Re-loaded. [2] Having directed movies such as The Semetery, Living on Water, Come Rain Come shine, Clando, The Cameroon Mountain,and Web City, Kalabout in his earlier years, he has been a great actor, featuring in key Cameroonian movies like Smokescreen in 2016, Broken, [4] [5] and Assailed [6] and Nganu in 2023.

He has received various awards including that of Best African Actor [3] and a Cameroon Heroes Medal of Valor. [7]

Away from being a movie producer and actor, he is a Chef, an instrumentalist playing diverse instruments, and a father of many children. [1]
