Lega Toscana,whose complete name is Lega Toscana per Salvini Premier,is a regionalist political party active in Tuscany. Established in 1987,it was one of the founding "national" sections of Lega Nord (LN) in 1991 and has been the regional section of Lega per Salvini Premier (LSP) in Tuscany since 2020.
Primary elections were first introduced in Italy by Lega Nord in 1995,but were seldom used until before the 2005 regional elections.

The municipal elections in Bologna took place on 3 and 4 October 2021. The incumbent Mayor of Bologna was Virginio Merola of Democratic Party,who won the 2016 Bologna municipal election. The centre-left candidate Matteo Lepore won in a landslide with 62% of votes,becoming the most voted mayor since the introduction of direct elections in 1995.
Volt Italia is a progressive and eurofederalist party in Italy. It is an affiliate of Volt Europa and was founded in 2018. Volt was unable to take part in the 2019 European elections,failing to obtain the required 150,000 notarised supporter signatures. Since then,the party has contested municipal and regional elections,winning a number of mandates and providing a deputy mayor since October 2021.
