It covers over 56.95 square kilometres (21.99 sq mi) with a population of 482,000 as of 2019. Among them, the urban resident population is 476,300, and the population urbanization rate is 98.83%. Hangzhou–Nanchang high-speed railway or Hangchāng HSR is a dual-track, electrified, high-speed rail line between Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Huangshan, Anhui and Nanchang, Jiangxi. It can be divided into the Hangzhou–Huangshan section and the Huangshan–Nanchang section.
Gongqingcheng is a sub-prefecture-level city in Jiangxi, People's Republic of China. It was established on 10 September 2010 in the jurisdiction of Jiujiang. It is located 62 kilometres (39 mi) north of Nanchang, the provincial capital. On 1 July 2014, it was re-designated as being directly administered by the province, i.e. a sub-prefecture-level city. Situated in the vicinity of De'an, Yongxiu, and Lushan counties, it lies in the foothills of Mount Lu and lies on the western shore of Poyang Lake. With an area of 193 square kilometres (75 sq mi), it is home to 120,000 people, including 68,000 permanent residents. There are plans for the city to expand the population to 400,000 people. It is the only city in China to be named after the Communist Youth League of China, which in Chinese is abbreviated to "共青团"; hence its name literally means "Communist Youth League City".
Nanchang Metro, officially Nanchang Rail Transit, is a rapid transit system in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. As of 2021, four lines are operational. The Metro opened for commercial operation in December 2015. The network is currently 128.3 km (79.7 mi) in length with 4 lines. A total length of 163 km (101.3 mi) of network is planned, with Line 5 which is currently under planning.
Xiangtang–Putian railway or Xiangpu railway, is a Class I higher-speed railway in eastern China linking Nanchang and Fúzhou (福州), the provincial capitals, respectively, of Jiangxi and Fujian Province. The line is named after Xiangtang, a township south of Nanchang, which was originally slated to serve as a terminus, and Putian, on the coast of Fujian, at which the southern branch of the Xiangpu railway terminates. The line actually begins at the Lehua East Station, a rail junction for the Beijing–Kowloon and Nanchang–Jiujiang intercity railways north of Nanchang. The line heads south to Nanchang West Railway Station and bypasses Xiangtang on its way to Fǔzhou (抚州). After entering Fujian, the line forks at Yongtai with the northern fork heading to Fúzhou (福州) and the southern fork going to Putian. The Nanchang to Yongtai section of the line plus the northern fork to Fuzhou is officially named the Nanchang–Fuzhou or Changfu railway. The southern fork is officially named the Yongtai–Putian or Yongpu railway.
The Nanchang–Ganzhou high-speed railway, or Changgan Passenger Dedicated Line, is a high-speed railway between Nanchang and Ganzhou in Jiangxi province. The southern section of that railway, the Ganzhou–Shenzhen high-speed railway, commenced construction in January 2015. This allows for fast connections from Jiangxi to several coastal cities in Guangdong and Fujian.
Hangzhou–Changsha high-speed railway is a China Railway High-speed line connecting Hangzhou, Nanchang, and Changsha, respectively the provincial capitals of Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Hunan. This railway forms a section of the Shanghai–Kunming high-speed railway, part of the National Railway Grid Network, as one of the four major east-west lines.
Nanchang Qingyunpu Airport, also known as Sanjiadian Airport, is an airport in Qingyunpu District of Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. Originally constructed for use by the Republic of China Air Force, it was the largest airport in China when opened in 1935. The airport was destroyed during the Second Sino-Japanese War and rebuilt afterwards. After 1949, it was mainly used for test flights by the aircraft manufacturer Hongdu Aviation Industry Group, until its replacement by Nanchang Yaohu Airport in 2018.
Nanchang East railway station is a railway station currently under construction in Qingshanhu District, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. It will be served by Nanchang–Jingdezhen–Huangshan high-speed railway, Nanchang–Jiujiang high-speed railway and Nanchang–Ganzhou high-speed railway.

Gong Jianhua is a former Chinese politician who spent his entire career in his home-province Jiangxi. He surrendered himself to and is cooperating with the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and National Supervisory Commission for investigation of "suspected violations of disciplines and laws" on 29 November 2021. Previously he served as vice chairman of the Standing Committee of Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress. Gong is the fourth vice-provincial level official in Jiangxi to be targeted by China's top anticorruption watchdog since the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, behind Li Yihuang, Shi Wenqing and Xiao Yi.
Guo An is a former Chinese politician who spent his entire career in his home-province Jiangxi. As of September 2022 he was under investigation by China's top anti-corruption agency. He served as mayor of Nanchang from 2013 to 2018 and party secretary of Yingtan from 2018 to 2021.
