Alex Jones is a British actor, playwright and filmmaker. Born and bred in The Black Country, Alex became an actor and playwright after various jobs in the manufacturing and building industries. [1] He is best known for Noise, a violent play about teenage newlyweds who face neighbourly aggression. As an actor, he played the villain Clive Horrobin in The Archers . [2] Tours of his play include I’m a Minger (also nominated for The Brian Way Award) and River’s Up toured by the Oxfordshire Touring Theatre Company. [1]

For his work on the London stage, Jennings received three Olivier Awards, winning for Too Clever by Half (1988), Peer Gynt (1996), and My Fair Lady (2003). Honk! is a musical adaptation of the 1843 Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling, incorporating a message of tolerance. The book and lyrics are by Anthony Drewe and music is by George Stiles. The musical is set in the countryside and features Ugly – a cygnet who is mistaken as an ugly duckling upon falling into his mother's nest and is rejected by everyone but Ida, a sly tomcat who only befriends him out of hunger, and several other barnyard characters.

An Illustrated Talk was performed at the New Theatre, Sydney as part of the 2008 Short and Sweet festival.
