Alexander Mishnaevski is a Russian violist. [1]
Born in Moscow, Mishnaevski began studying the violin at age six at the renowned Central Music School of Moscow Tchaikovski Conservatory. Mishnaevski emigrated to the United States in 1973 where he lived in New York City and graduated from Juilliard School of Music while studying with the legendary Dorothy Delay. At Juilliard, Mishnaevski changed from violin to viola at the suggestion of Isaac Stern.
Mishnaevski became an American Citizen in 1983 and joined the DSO as Principal Violist in 1986. [2] Prior to joining the DSO, Mishnaevski held the position of Principal Violist at the New York Chamber Orchestra, the New York Pro Arte Ensemble, Montreal’s McGill Chamber Orchestra and Orquestra Sinfonica de Xalapa in Mexico.
Mishnaevski's international performance experience of chamber music concerts and recitals have allowed him to collaborate on projects with eminent players including Isaac Stern, Schlomo Mintz, Joseph Silverstein, Schmuel Ashkenazy, Franz Helmerson, Joseph Swenson and the Colorado Quartet. As a soloist, Mishnaevski has appeared with the DSO, New York City Symphony, the Oklahoma Symphony, Queens Symphony Orchestra (New York), the New Jersey State Symphony, Orquestra Sinfonica de Xalapa, the Taipei Symphony and the Singapore Symphony. He has also performed in Korea and Hong Kong.
Locally, he runs a private studio and also performs with symphony orchestras in Windsor, Southfield, Grosse Pointe and Dearborn. Mishnaevski has taught master classes and workshops in the U.S., Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Hong, Kong, and Mexico.

A founder member of the Huberman Quartet, with which he made his debut at Carnegie Hall, he has since appeared there with the Guarneri Quartet.

Sirena Huang is an American concert violinist. She has received numerous awards, including First Prize at the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, First Prize at the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition, First Place at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, and Third Place at the Singapore International Violin Competition and the Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition. She has performed with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Huang was appointed as the first Artist-in-Residence of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra in 2011.

Cynthia Phelps is an American violist whose versatile career involves work as a chamber musician, solo artist, and orchestral musician. Phelps is currently the Principal Violist of the New York Philharmonic, a position to which she was appointed in 1992.
Andor John Toth was an American classical violinist, conductor and educator with a musical career spanning over six decades. Toth played his violin on the World War II battlefields of Aachen, Germany; performed with the NBC Symphony Orchestra under Arturo Toscanini in 1943 at age 18; and formed several chamber music ensembles, including the Oberlin String Quartet, the New Hungarian Quartet, and the Stanford String Quartet. For 15 years he was the violinist in the Alma Trio. Toth conducted orchestras in Cleveland, Denver and Houston. In 1969, he was the founding concertmaster of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra under Neville Marriner. Toth taught at five important colleges and universities, and recorded for Vox, Decca Records and Eclectra Records.
Ernest Victor Llewellyn CBE was an Australian violinist, concertmaster, violist, conductor and musical administrator. He was the founding director of the Canberra School of Music and is commemorated by Llewellyn Hall, the concert venue at the School.
Sheila Browne is an American-Irish concert violist from Gladwyne, Pennsylvania with dual citizenship. She is a concert and recording artist and Associate Professor at the University of Delaware. For ten years she was on faculty and Associate Professor of Viola at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Named the William Primrose Recitalist of 2016 in conjunction with the Primrose International Viola Archive (PIVA), Ms. Browne has played solo, concerto and chamber music concerts and has played principal of orchestras on six continents, performing in major venues in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. She is in the Fire Pink Trio and principal of the New York Women's Philharmonic, making her Carnegie- Stern Hall concerto debut in 2011. Browne is the Director and faculty member of the January Karen Tuttle Viola Workshop, founder in 2015 and faculty member of the first European Karen Tuttle Viola Workshop at NYU- Prague 2016, and has served on the Executive Board of the American Viola Society Ms. Browne was the violist of the Gotham, Arianna, Pelligrini and Serafin string quartets. She has served on the faculties of Duke and New York universities, University of Missouri- St. Louis and of Tennessee- Knoxville, and Juilliard's Music Advancement Program.
