Alfonso Fraile was a Spanish painter. He was born in Marchena, Spain in 1930 and died in Madrid in 1988. He studied at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes, located in San Fernando de Henares, Spain.
Fraile's early work can be described as a form of cubism, which trended towards greater abstraction, and even primitivism, as his career progressed. In his later work he tended to minimize his subjects, isolating them in space, and working with broad swatches of bright colors, strong line and energetic brush work. He often explored a composition multiple times, often serially on a single canvas, at other times on several canvasses, in varying palettes.
Fraile held his first one-man show in Madrid in 1957, exhibiting his abstract pictures.
In collaboration with Joseph Vento Ruiz, and Medina and Julio Martín-Caro, Fraile founded the group, "Nuevo Espacialismo," reintroducing the figure with a narrative emphasis, citing the abstract expressionist painter Willem de Kooning as one of their influences. Fraile was particularly interested, at that time, in the unflinching realism of Goya.
Fraile's paintings are showcased at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Madrid. [1]

Aníbal Villacís was a master painter from Ecuador who used raw earthen materials such as clay and natural pigments to paint on walls and doors throughout his city when he could not afford expensive artist materials. As a teenager, Villacís taught himself drawing and composition by studying and recreating the illustrated ad posters for bullfights in Quito. In 1952, Jose Maria Velasco Ibarra, former President of Ecuador, discovered Villacís and offered him a scholarship to study in Paris.
Juan Soriano was a Mexican artist known for his paintings, sculptures and theater work. He was a child prodigy whose career began early as did his fame with various writers authoring works about him. He exhibited in the United States and Europe as well as major venues in Mexico such as the Museo de Arte Moderno and the Palacio de Bellas Artes. His monumental sculptures can be found in various parts of Mexico and in Europe as well. Recognitions of his work include Mexico's National Art Prize, the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres and membership in France's Legion of Honour.

Leopoldo Presas (1915-2009) was an Argentine artist. He experienced different styles throughout his life. He had academic training and started as a figurative painter though he later turned into expressionism as well. He tried several mediums as oil, tempera, charcoal and pencil on different supports including canvas, paper, paperboard and newspaper. The themes of his works have been very extensive. The female figure was his main attraction, but he also did still lifes, landscapes, harbors, erotic paintings and some expressionist and controversial series as “The Pigs”, “The Kings of Putrefaction” and “The Christs”. He won the Konex Award in 1982 and 2012.
