Algot Tergel

Algot Tergel, born 8 August 1906 in Kyrkhult congregation, Blekinge County, [1] [2] died 12 October 1996 in Sigtuna congregation, Stockholm County, [3] [4] was a swedish priest, [1] teacher [1] [2] and author. [5]

Tergel was son to peasant Sven Bengtsson och Sissa Jönsson. [2] He completed his elementary school teacher education in Lund 1927, became ordinary college teacher at Mjällby 1928 and served in Skåne-Tranås from 1929 to 1938. [1]

After studentexamen in 1934 and renewed studies, he received his Master of Theology degree in 1938. He was ordained the same year in Lund and served thereafter in Lövestad and Simrishamn. He then became school- and seminary secretary at the Diaconal Board of the Church of Sweden in Stockholm 1942, priest in charge in Brännkyrka congregation in Stockholm 1949–51 and director at the Church of Sweden's layman school, in Sigtuna 1951–1971. Tergel was one of the delegates that participated in the formation of the Swedish Christian Democrat party in 1964. [6] He was a member of the board at Sigtunastiftelsen, [7] president at The Church of Sweden Lay Movement and also in the Francis Society with engagements as tour guide destinated to Nordic Ecumenical Institute in Assisi. [8]

In 1931, Algot Tergel married Hanna Månsson (1902–2004), [3] who gave birth to four children: Alf, Gertrud, Birgitta and Gunilla. [1] [2]

Stina Wirsén

Stina Wirsén Hedengren, Swedish author and illustrator, born 1968 in Älvsjö, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. Stina Wirsén, educated at Konstfack in Stockholm 1985–1992, was the in-house illustrator at Dagens Nyheter between 1990–2010. During this period she was the head of the papers illustration department for several years. After 2010 she’s been working as a freelance illustrator and author. Over the years she has received several awards for her illustrations. With her illustrations, Stina Wirsén often switches between different genres. That also applies to her children’s books; they vary in target group, genre, style and method. She’s been illustrating ABC-books for the youngest, anthologies, text- and picture books. She is married to Swedish graphic designer and art director Pompe Hedengren.

Sven Ulric Palme

Sven Ulric Adalvard Palme was a Swedish historian and professor at Stockholm University. He was the son of the historian Olof Palme (1884–1918) and Ola Palme (1888–1982). His historical research was broad, from Swedish Middle Age to modern political history. The political history was his focus, concentrating on political parties, decision-making processes and key actors in these processes. In the 1930s he was active in the conservative political debate. But eventually he distanced himself from the conservative ideas and became closer to the Social Democratic tradition.

Malcolm Murray (Swedish Army officer)

Lieutenant General Charles Gustaf Uno Malcolm Murray was a Swedish Army officer. Commissioned as an officer in 1925, Murray served in Finnish Army as part of the Swedish Volunteer Corps during the Winter War and as company commander in the Swedish Volunteer Battalion during the Continuation War. Back in Sweden, Murray served as regimental commander of Svea Life Guards, as Inspector of the Swedish Armoured Troops and as military commander of the II Military District. Nils-Ivar Carlborg

Nils Ivar (Nils-Ivar) Carlborg was a Swedish Army officer. He started the paratrooper training in Sweden and founded the Swedish Army Paratroop School of which he was its first commander (1952–1953). He later served as head of the Military Academy Karlberg (1964–1969) and as commander of Stockholm Defence District (1969–1973) and as the Commandant of Stockholm (1969–1973).
