Ali Akbar Rupu (died 22 February 2018) was a Bangladeshi music composer and music director. [1] He composed songs for Bangladeshi television magazines programme Ityadi and films including Rastar Chhele and Dui Biyai-er Kirti. [2] [3]
Rupu started his career by working on 'An Accident' album in 1980. In 1982, he played guitar and keyboard in the band 'Uccharon'. He composed songs for most of the notable singers in Bangladesh. [4] Notable songs he composed include Kumar Bishwajit's "Ekdin Kannar rol uthbe amar barite", "Jare ghor dila songsar dila", "Jassu jemon mukhush pore probesh kore ghore", "dardiya", "e onchoyata", "Ek pashla bristi', Andrew Kishore's "Padma patar pani noy", Sabina Yasmin, Kanak Chapa and Samina Chowdhury's "Sob chaoya kache paoya" and Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury's "Kobitar moto meyeti, golper moto cheleti" etc. [5]
Rupu was married to Nargis Akbar. [3] They had a son, Ali Afzal Sidney and a daughter, Fariha Naz Apon. [3] Rupu's father Ustad Mansur Ali was also a composer and violinist. His paternal uncle Dhir Ali Miah was a Ekushey Padak winning composer. Musician Alauddin Ali was his maternal uncle. [3]
Salil Chowdhury was an Indian songwriter, music director, lyricist, writer, and poet who predominantly composed for Bengali, Hindi, and Malayalam films. He composed music for films in 13 languages. This includes over 75 Hindi films, 41 Bengali films, around 27 Malayalam films, and a few Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Odia and Assamese films. His musical ability was widely recognised and acknowledged in the Indian film industry. He was an accomplished composer and arranger who was proficient in several musical instruments, including flute, the piano, and the esraj. He was also widely acclaimed and admired for his inspirational and original poetry in Bengali.

Akbar Ali Khan was a Bangladeshi economist and educationist who served as a bureaucrat until 2001. He was a sub-divisional officer of Habiganj during the Bangladesh Liberation War when he decided to join the war. Later he served as an official of the Mujibnagar Government. After independence, he rejoined the civil service and reached the highest post of Cabinet Secretary. In the meanwhile, he also worked as a university teacher. Towards the end of 2006, he became one of the advisers of the Caretaker Government led by President Iajuddin Ahmed. He resigned along with three other advisers, namely, Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, C M Shafi Sami and Sultana Kamal on the grounds of dissatisfaction with President Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed caretaker government. According to them, there was no scope to contribute in the caretaker government to create a congenial atmosphere for holding a free and fair election. In October 2007, the Government of Bangladesh constituted a Regulatory Reforms Commission (RRC) with him as the chair.
Samina Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi singer. She mostly sings modern and classical songs. Her notable songs include Jonmo Theke Jolchi Mago, Amar Buker Moddhyekhane, Amar Dui Chokhe Dui Nodi, Ekbar Jodi Keu, Kobita Porar Prohor and Phool Phote Phool Jhore.

Kabir Bakul is a Bangladeshi lyricist and journalist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyrics 6 times for the films Megher Kole Rod (2008), Swami Strir Wada (2009), Nisshash Amar Tumi (2010), Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini (2013), Nayok (2018) and Bishwoshundori (2020). As of 2013, he wrote about 5000 songs.

Alauddin Ali was a Bangladeshi music composer. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director five times for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978), Sundori (1979), Koshai (1980), Jogajog (1988) and Lakhe Ekta (1990). He won the Best Music Composer award for the film Laal Doriya (2002) and the Best Lyrics award for Premik (1985). Moreover, he won the Ifad Film Club Award and the Bachsas Award in the category of Best Music Director. He directed music for more than 300 films.
Aynabaji is a 2016 Bangladeshi crime thriller film directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury and produced by Gousul Alam under the banner of Content Matters Production. The film stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Masuma Rahman Nabila and Partha Barua in lead roles. It is the director Amitabh Reza's first feature film. It was released on 30 September 2016.
