Ali K. Mulford (also known by their pen name A.K. Mulford) is an author of fantasy and romantic comedy. Mulford is best known for their Five Crowns of Okrith fantasy series, published by Harper Voyager. [1] [2] Mulford's books often prominently feature queer characters. [3] In an interview with Dallas Voice , Mulford commented, "Growing up, I loved the [fantasy] genre, but it lacked diversity. Now I get to bring that fantasy nerd love while writing stories that reflect my experience." [4]

His film work includes roles in 28 Days (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), voice and motion capture for Sonny in I, Robot (2004), and 3:10 to Yuma (2007). He starred in the black comedy horror film Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010). Kuang released a stand-alone novel, Babel, or the Necessity of Violence in 2022. Her latest release is Yellowface, a satirical novel which was published in 2023. Shadow and Bone is an American fantasy television series developed by Eric Heisserer for Netflix. It is based on the written works of Leigh Bardugo, and set in the Grishaverse, which consists of the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology. All eight episodes of the first season premiered on April 23, 2021. In June 2021, the series was renewed for a second season, also consisting of eight episodes, which premiered on March 16, 2023. In November 2023, the series was canceled after two seasons.
