Aliaksandr Darozhka (born 19 August 1991) is a Belarusian biathlete. He made his World Cup debut for Belarus in Oberhof in 2014. He competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, in the individual contest. [1]
Sochi is the largest resort city in Russia. The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially called the XXII Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as Sochi 2014, was an international winter multi-sport event that was held from 7 to 23 February 2014 in Sochi, Russia. Opening rounds in certain events were held on 6 February 2014, the day before the opening ceremony.
The 2014 Winter Paralympics, the 11th Paralympic Winter Games, and also more generally known as the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, were an international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), held in Sochi, Russia from 7 to 16 March 2014. 45 National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) participated in the Games, which marked the first time Russia ever hosted the Paralympics. The Games featured 72 medal events in five sports, and saw the debut of snowboarding at the Winter Paralympics.
Aleksandr Kuschynski is a Belarusian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2015 for the Amore & Vita–Beretta, Ceramica Flaminia–Bossini Docce, Liquigas–Doimo, Team Katusha and Minsk teams. Kuschynski was a three-time winner of the Belarusian National Road Race Championships. Kuschynski now works as a directeur sportif for both the men's and women's Minsk Cycling Club teams.
The ice hockey competitions of the 2014 Winter Olympics were played at two venues, located 300 meters from the other, within the Olympic Park in Sochi, Russia. The Bolshoy Ice Dome, which seats 12,000, resembles a Fabergé egg. The Shayba Arena, seating 7,000, was supposed to be a moveable structure but eventually stayed in Sochi. Both venues are international sized.

There were many controversies and concerns affecting the 2014 Winter Olympics. There were disputes with Circassians, who demanded the events be cancelled or moved unless Russia apologized for the 19th century Circassian genocide, environmental and economic issues, lack of political stability and governance, and the safety and human rights of LGBT athletes and journalists, in light of Russia's "gay propaganda" laws, which sparked Olympic-focused protests. However, all of these events were overshadowed by the massive Russian state-sponsored doping program uncovered in the aftermath of the Games.
