Alien Project is the stage name of Israeli psychedelic trance DJ and producer Ari Linker. [1] He has also collaborated with other musicians in the groups Alien vs. The Cat (with Space Cat), Crunchy Punch (with Jean Borelli), N.B.K. (with Christophe Drouillet), and Save the Robot (with Ido Liran). [2]

History

Ari Linker first began performing in Goa in 1994. [1] [3] [4] He has been invited back to perform in Goa as a live act or DJ every year since then. [5]

His first album as Alien Project was Midnight Sun, released on Phonokol in 2001. Israeli trance musician Astrix collaborated on four tracks on the album. The album also featured appearances from Jean Borelli, Orion, and Celli Firmi. [6]

His second album, Aztechno Dream, was released on TIP.World in 2002. It featured trance musician Riktam (of GMS) on three of the tracks. The album also featured an appearance from psychedelic music pioneer Raja Ram. [7]

His third album, Dance or Die, was released on Phonokol in 2002. It featured three collaborations with Astrix, one with GMS, two with Jean Borelli, one with Celli Firmi, and one with Serge Souque (of the group Total Eclipse). [8]

In an interview in 2003, Astrix announced that he was collaborating with Alien Project on three new records, but the two musicians parted ways a short time later. [9] He collaborated with Israeli trance musician Space Cat (Avi Algranati) in the project Alien vs. The Cat. [10]

The fourth Alien Project album, Don't Worry Be Groovy!, was released on TIP.World in April 2004. It featured a collaboration with Jean Borelli and another collaboration with Raja Ram. [11]

The fifth Alien Project album, Activation Portal, was released on H2O Records in April 2007.

Total Eclipse is a psychedelic trance band founded in 1992 by three French musicians: Stéphane Holweck, Serge Souque and Loïc Vanpoucke. Stéphane Holweck is now the sole member. Their first tracks appeared on a few compilations in 1993, and by 1994 they had a few singles out with Dragonfly Records and T.I.P. Records. Their first full-length album, Delta Aquarids, and the double CD Violent Relaxation were released in 1995 and 1996 respectively, both on Blue Room Released. They also had a single song, "Psychedelic Terrorist", on the album Tsunami, released in 1999.

Eat Static is an electronic music project from Frome, Somerset, England formed in 1989 by Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton. Hinton left the group in February 2008 after 18 years to spend more time with his family.

Oliver John Wisdom was a British Goa and psy trance musician, and clothing producer, who lived in London. From the 1990s he recorded under the name Space Tribe.

Haltya is a musical act by Finnish born musician and sound artist Tommi Sirkiä. The band was founded in the mid-nineties by Tommi and former member Jürgen Sachau in Helsinki Finland. Tommi and Jürgen parted ways after the release of Haltya's 2nd studio album fi:Electric Help Elves, and today Tommi records and produces Haltya mainly on his own, often with the help of other musicians, artists and producers.

Martin Freeland is a British psytrance artist, record producer and DJ, who has performed under the pseudonym of Man With No Name since 1990. He is best known for the singles "Teleport" and "Floor-Essence", both of which appeared in the UK Singles Chart.

Nicholas Barber, better known by the stage name Doof, is best known as a British, London-based psychedelic trance musician.

Their first EP release, Solar Energy, was an instant hit with the underground trance scene and is often credited with putting the Spirit Zone Recordings label at the forefront of psychedelic trance early on. Avatar Records is a Tel Aviv-based independent record label and digital distributor specializing in electronic music, providing music to online retailers including Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify and Beatport. The company was founded by Avichay Avigal and Peter Eibenschutz in 1997. The label initially had an alliance with NMC Music, when it first started as its subsidiary. Later, Avatar was in collaboration with BNE, before finally becoming a fully independent label.
