Alison Becker Chase (born January 3, 1946) taught the dance class at Dartmouth that led to founding of Pilobolus Dance Theater in 1971. As a founding artistic director of Pilobolus she worked with the company from 1971 to 2006. She launched Momix with Moses Pendleton in 1980. She was a Guggenheim Fellow in 1980.
After leaving Pilobolus, she founded a new company, Apogee Arts, with a touring program called Alison Chase/Performance. [1] Apogee was commissioned to create a site specific performance at Settlement Quarry in Stonington, Maine in summer 2009 and 2010. [2] The formal company premiered November 19, 2010 at the Collins Center for the Arts in Orono, Maine. [3] [4] The company continues to perform and provides educational programming to schools in Maine.

Bangor is a city in and the county seat of Penobscot County, Maine, United States. The city proper has a population of 31,753, making it the state's third-most populous city, behind Portland (68,408) and Lewiston (37,121). Bangor is known as the “Queen City.”
The University of Southern Maine (USM) is a public university with campuses in Portland, Gorham and Lewiston in the U.S. state of Maine. It is the southernmost of the University of Maine System. It was founded as two separate state universities, Gorham Normal School and Portland University. The two universities, later known as Gorham State College and the University of Maine at Portland, were combined in 1970 to help streamline the public university system in Maine and eventually expanded by adding the Lewiston campus in 1988.
The American Dance Festival (ADF) under the direction of Executive Director Jodee Nimerichter hosts its main summer dance courses including Summer Dance Intensive, Pre-Professional Dance Intensive, and the Dance Professional Workshops. It also hosts a six-week summer festival of modern dance performances, currently held at Duke University and the Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, North Carolina. Several site-specific performances have also taken place outdoors at Duke Gardens and the NC Art Museum in Raleigh, NC.
Alberta Ballet was founded by Muriel Taylor and Dr. Ruth Carse in 1958 and became a professional company in 1966. The company is a resident company of both the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta and the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, Alberta and performs its full season in both venues.
Martha Clarke is an American theater director and choreographer noted for her multidisciplinary approach to theatre, dance, and opera productions. Her best-known original work is The Garden of Earthly Delights, an exploration in theatre, dance, music and flying of the famous painting of the same name by Hieronymus Bosch. The production was honored with a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience, an Obie Award for Richard Peaslee's original score, and a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for choreography.
Moses Pendleton is a choreographer, dancer and the artistic director of MOMIX. MOMIX is a dance company that he formed in 1981 as an offshoot of the Pilobolus, which he had co-founded while a senior at Dartmouth College in 1971. He remained a full-time member with the company until 1980. He choreographs dance sculptures that bring together acrobatics, gymnastics, mime, props, and film.
MOMIX, a dance company based in Washington, Connecticut, was founded in 1981 by Choreographer Moses Pendleton. MOMIX was conceptualised 'out of work' Pendleton did for the celebration of Erik Satie at the Paris Opera in 1978. The company is named after a solo, "Momix," that Pendleton created for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Pilobolus is an American modern dance company that began performing in October 1971. Pilobolus has performed over 100 choreographic works in more than 64 countries around the world, and has been featured on the 79th Annual Academy Awards, The Oprah Winfrey Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
Astad Deboo was an Indian contemporary dancer and choreographer. He was considered a pioneer of modern dance in India. Through his career he collaborated with artists including Pina Bausch, Alison Becker Chase and Pink Floyd, and performed across the world.
BodyVox is a dance company based in Portland, Oregon, United States, and was formed in 1997 on commission from the Portland Opera. The company blends contemporary dance with dance theater, and often makes use of other performance art form such as live music. In addition to their performances, the company has worked extensively with film and multi-media. BodyVox's collection of short films "Modern Daydreams" was a collaboration with performance artist and film maker Mitchell Rose, and the film won the American Choreography Award for Outstanding Achievement in Short Film in 2002.

Abraham Jonathan Wolken was one of the original dancers and a co-founder of Pilobolus dance company in 1971, which The New York Times in his obituary calls "one of the most popular modern-dance companies in the world". Wolken served as one of the company's five original artistic directors.
Emily Ann Cain is an American politician from Maine and Executive Director of EMILY's List. A member of the Democratic Party, Cain served in the Maine Senate from 2012 to 2014, representing the 30th district which includes part of Penobscot County. She was previously a member of the Maine House of Representatives from 2004 to 2012, where she served as Minority Leader from 2008 to 2010 and as House Chair of the Appropriations & Financial Affairs Committee from 2010 to 2012.
The KahBang Music and Art Festival was an annual four-day music, art, and film festival held in Bangor and Portland, Maine. The event features many genres of music, as well as independent film screenings and art installations. Other activities offered at the festival have included boat cruises, a brew fest, "KahBlock Party," and the closing "KahBrunch and Kickball Tournament." At times the festival has offered lodging and camping packages, and the campsite often features additional musical entertainment throughout the event. In 2014, the music portion of the event was cancelled, and the art/film portion was moved to Portland, Maine.
Inbal Pinto is an Israeli contemporary dancer, choreographer, set and costume designer. She is the artistic director of the Inbal Pinto Dance Company, which she founded in 1992.
"The Real Stormin" Norman Zamcheck is an American pianist and singer/songwriter, best known as bandleader of the New York-based Real Stormin' Norman Band, and the rock/vaudeville group Stormin' Norman and Suzy. Considered an innovator in the blues-ragtime revival, Zamcheck is known for his boogie-woogie blues, rag, and klezmer piano technique; his original long-form ballad songs; as well as for musicals and film soundtracks.
Donald DePoy is an American bluegrass musician, music educator, and music event organizer. He is a fifth-generation bluegrass musician from the Shenandoah Valley and a multi-instrumentalist. He and his wife Martha Hills have performed as the duo Me & Martha since 2005. He is founder of the Shenandoah Music Trail and the first "bluegrass church". He won first place in dulcimer at the 2017 Old Fiddlers' Convention in Galax, Virginia.
Jodee Nimerichter is an American arts administrator and film producer. She currently serves as the executive director of the American Dance Festival.
Gaspard Louis is a Haitian dancer, choreographer, and artistic director. A former dancer with Pilobolus, he is the founder and artistic director of the modern dance company Gaspard and Dancers. Louis is also on the faculty at North Carolina Central University and the American Dance Festival.
