Alistair Smith (born 8 August 1990) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He currently plays for Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL).

AFL career

Alistair Smith was recruited from Perth in the 2008 AFL Draft by St Kilda, with their fourth round selection (number 62 overall). [1]

Smith played regularly with St Kilda's Victorian Football League (VFL) affiliate team Sandringham and spent 2009 and 2010 developing his career with the Zebras in the VFL. [2]

Smith played three games in the 2010 NAB Cup. [2] The young midfielder was impressive in St Kilda's first NAB Cup match—he had 18 possessions and was named in the Saints' best. Smith was named emergency six times during the home and away season in 2010. [3]

Smith made his debut for St Kilda against Essendon at Docklands Stadium on 10 April 2011, in round 3 of the 2011 AFL season. [3] He gathered 16 disposals on debut.

Alistair Smith was delisted by St Kilda at the end of the 2011 season. [4]

Originally from Albany, Western Australia, Gardiner played for the Claremont Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) before being drafted by West Coast with the number-one pick in the 1996 National Draft. He made his debut for the club in 1997, and over the next seasons replaced Ryan Turnbull as the club's first-choice ruckman. After being named in the All-Australian team in 2003, Gardiner missed most of the 2004 season due to injury. Loss of form and a series of off-field controversies led to him being traded to St Kilda at the end of the 2006 season, having played total of 129 games for West Coast. During his time at St Kilda, Gardiner added another 52 games, including St Kilda's 2009 and 2010 losing grand final teams, before retiring at the end of the 2011 season.

Jake Batchelor

Jake Batchelor is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
