"All I Want for Christmas Is New Year's Day" is a song by British musical duo Hurts. In the first week of its release, the song was made as a free download on iTunes in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and was "Single of the Week". [1] The single charted at number 67 in Austria.
Regarding the release of the song, Hurts declared in an interview that, "[i]t's about the worst Christmas of our lives, which we're releasing on the best Christmas of our lives. Also, we used previous cast members for the video, so it's like a Hurts Christmas party... in a cemetery." [2]
Fraser McAlpine wrote for BBC's Chart Blog that the song was "mournful" and "dignified", complimenting the "amazing" chorus and "the tubular bells, the sleighbells, the twinkling piano and the booming drums, and all of that mournful huffing, and it sounds both magical and deep." [3] Digital Spy reviewer Robert Copsey rated "[t]he Christmas tearjerker" five stars, maintaining that it "blossoms into an uplifting anthem". [4]
The music video takes place in a graveyard, where the band members and other people (characters from the music videos for "Better Than Love", "Wonderful Life" and "Stay") gather around a grave, out of which a Christmas tree emerges.

"Dirty Picture" is a song by British R&B singer Taio Cruz, released from his second studio album, Rokstarr (2009). The song was written and produced by Cruz alongside Fraser T Smith, and later released as the album's third single on 5 April 2010. Originally, Cruz wanted the female vocals to be done by Lady Gaga but opted to switch to Kesha due to heavy influence by Dr. Luke and for finding her voice unique. The song was later re-recorded as an album bonus track for Kesha's debut album, Animal (2010), and dubbed the "Kesha edit" or "Dirty Picture Pt. 2". Lyrically, the song is about sending a dirty picture to a significant other whom you miss.
"Ridin' Solo" is the third single from Jason Derulo's self-titled debut album, produced by J.R. Rotem. The demo originally sampled "Bitter Sweet Symphony" by The Verve, but the sample was not cleared and was subsequently replaced with electronic motifs which are featured throughout the entire song.

"Drummer Boy" debuted on the Irish Singles Chart at number twenty-three on 10 September 2010. "Start Without You" is a song by British recording artist Alexandra Burke. Featuring vocals from Jamaican American reggae rapper Laza Morgan, it was written by Kristian Lundin, Eddy Grant, Savan Kotecha, Julian Bunetta, and RedOne. The song is an R&B song, which incorporates reggae fusion and dancehall. According to Burke the song was inspired by her Jamaican heritage and her need for a summer song. "Higher" is a song performed by British-Irish girl group the Saturdays taken from their debut extended play, Headlines!. Written by Ina Wroldsen and co-written & produced by Arnthor Birgisson, the song confirmed to be the EP's second single when it was released on 1 November 2010 by Fascination Records. In preparation for its release, the single was remixed to feature new vocals from American rapper Flo Rida after the rapper's single "Club Can't Handle Me" beat the group's previous single "Missing You" to number one; it was the second time they had lost the position to Flo Rida. Rochelle Wiseman jokingly said that the group would never get a number one until they collaborated with him.
"Katy on a Mission" is a song performed by British recording artist Katy B. It was released by Rinse accompanied by a B-side titled "Louder" as her debut single and lead single from her debut album, On a Mission, on 22 August 2010. The song was co-written by Benga, Katy B and Geeneus, and produced by Benga. Musically, the song is constructed around beats, synths and a bassline found most prominent in the dubstep music genre. "Invincible" is a song by English rapper Tinie Tempah. Written by Tempah, co-written and produced by iSHi, the song features guest vocals from American recording artist, Kelly Rowland. It was released on 26 December 2010, serving as the fourth official single from Tempah's debut album, Disc-Overy. The song was conceived by Tempah as a tribute to the music which Rowland used to release when she was part of Destiny's Child. Critics noted the song's production, which consists of brassy horns and a piano riff similar to David Guetta and Rowland's hit single "When Love Takes Over" (2009). An accompanying music video sees Tempah travelling through London reminiscing about his humble beginnings. Rowland appears as a projected image on the buildings.
